Lol, I'll check on the Ford stuff... Smile

Dot-5 is a silicon-based synthetic. It has really high temp tolerances but it also compresses more than Dot-3/4 so it can give a spongy pedal. It was designed for big trucks that don't care about pedal feel as long as they can stop.

Doh, Yea I got silicone and synthetic confused there.

Ya might want to reread your posts before attacking a current student, we might know stuff.....might....lol
the super blue/gold only comes in 1 size. Castrol stuff has 2 sizes.

you guys don't know shit, all you do is pimp around in the parking lots look for chickz to turn you down

I still think the Synthetic fluids are a waste in a race car.
I've been pretty happy with my HPS pads and Motul 5.1 fluid, but they haven't seen a whole lot of use to be honest =P

Aluminum flywheel....yay or nay? Its around $300. I'm using the steel wheel I had for it on the minivan. It has a scratch on it from laying around (someone dropped something heavt on it...) so I didn't want to use it with this Kevlar clutch. So...get another stocker and turn/balance it or ger the aluminum bling. Thoughts?

BTW- Project status update - Gonna get some wheels and tires on it so I can roll it around tuesday. Car is actualy sitting ON the steel wheels from the van, they would not clear the brakes. Trying to get the guy to rebuild my transmission sometime this coming week. So you should finally see more out of this project soon. Its going to have a JMU parking pass next semester...mark my words.

cause aluminum flywheels are weak and easily create hot spots that will destroy either your clutch or flywheel or both. They also like to tear to pieces much more than a chromoly flywheel. I would never run an aluminum, I run a chromoly.

I run the ONLY OTHER CHOICE THERE IS DJ! Its Aluminum or Steel...no chromoly bling for the old TDS. Plus it has an insert that is replaceable. I'll get the "damn car" together this summer...I swear on a bible.

run steel then lol. Sorry, just not worth it to me, if I was choosing between the two I would run steel, plus its a hell of a lot cheaper.

Thanks for your opinion DJ. I'm going to ask all the retailers who sell aluminum flywheels (3 sell the Fidenza and TurbosUnleashed sells the Fidenza and there own "slightly beefyer" unit) how they hold up. Does anyone else share these thoughts on aluminum wheels?
