Ordered a set of Axxis Ultimate brake pads($57) and Blank Rotors from Carbotech($42/each) on Tuesday at 2pm. They arrived at my house when i got back home from work thurday of the same week.

also note that advanced auto had my stock rotors for $57 each ($15 more than what i paid for these) and tirerack.com had them for $41 each ($1 less, but no painting of the hat, vent edge, and hub side.

came in two days! nicely packed i have to say

Just opened it up to my surprise, they're painted to reduce rust!!! (didn't know stock replacements from carbotech came like this, very nice surprise! :p)

Even the vent side of the rotors are painted! (very happy customer incase you can't tell

wtf, Indeed. Dave and I pay out our asses for rotors. Me with my 300ZX brakes, and dave with his TT brakes. The cheapest (and I do mean cheapest) I've ever seen my rotors is 50 bucks a side, but that's for el-shit generic rotors. If I wanted just a nice, OEM quality rotor, I'm looking at about 100 bucks.

Hell, even a junkyard wants 35 bucks a side.

Yeah their website needs help...

The person i talked to said that they're in the process of brining up a whole new site and the system of making orders and such since the system as of now isn't secure. lol, the pictures of the animals, hahaha

Can I ask you the difference between "el-shit generic" and an "OEM quality" rotor?

Quality, supposedly but I havent noticed any difference in wear between centric (what carbotech sells) and vatozone el-shits.

so my rear pads are all burned up. i call up matt @ carbotech last thurs afternoon and tell him i need rear pads. he looks them up for my car.

matt: hmm, looks like we dont have them in stock right now. i'll have to make them. when do you need them by?

me: uh, i'm goin to summit next weekend

matt: okay, i can have them out to you by thursday if thats okay.

me: sure

so i notice my card is charged on friday which means that they probably shipped the pads. i get home from work today and they're here. 3 days ahead of when he said he'd deliver. huge thumbsup to carbotech

I call them 1 month before I needed pads for the last VIR. Told them what I needed, no problem, we have those in stock. I wait 2 weeks, nothing. I call them up, oh we were waiting on compound for your fronts XP10 (I ordered 2 set of rears, 9,10 and 2 sets of fronts, 10/12's). I said well I need them now, I have a race in 2 weeks. They he-hamed about having to do extra work and whatnot, I get them the tuesday before summit. This was w/ a 1 month lead time and 2 days shipping. I like it better when their customer service sucked and they actually shipped pads out early.

Now don't get me wrong, I love carbotech pads.

Maengelito Wrote:edit: oh yeah, and their website is just plain atrocious

No shit, which is why I have their phone number on speed dial.
