i love carbotech :D - Sijray21 - 07-15-2004 Ordered a set of Axxis Ultimate brake pads($57) and Blank Rotors from Carbotech($42/each) on Tuesday at 2pm. They arrived at my house when i got back home from work thurday of the same week. also note that advanced auto had my stock rotors for $57 each ($15 more than what i paid for these) and tirerack.com had them for $41 each ($1 less, but no painting of the hat, vent edge, and hub side. came in two days! nicely packed i have to say Just opened it up to my surprise, they're painted to reduce rust!!! (didn't know stock replacements from carbotech came like this, very nice surprise! :p) Even the vent side of the rotors are painted! (very happy customer incase you can't tell and the pads hub side too  just wanted to say thanx for the info with carbo tech and brake info guys, wouldn't have found out without you, hopefully i'll get to do a LOT more ... - Mike - 07-15-2004 word. you must have been looking at the wrong thing in autozone... no way they are $57/ea there. - Sijray21 - 07-15-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:word. you must have been looking at the wrong thing in autozone... no way they are $57/ea there. naw, they pulled it up on their computer db and i wanted to look on the screen cuz i didn't believe them, it wasn't autozone though, it was advanced auto parts, i don't know of an autozone in my area - Mike - 07-15-2004 rotors shouldn't ever be more than $25/ea unless you're getting pimpy shit :? - Dave - 07-16-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:rotors shouldn't ever be more than $25/ea unless you're getting pimpy shit :?oh yeah? try $73 each for fronts and that's with a major discout ($100/rotor retail) Rears are $130 a peice (w/ discount), in case you wanted to know. - Sijray21 - 07-16-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:rotors shouldn't ever be more than $25/ea unless you're getting pimpy shit :? naw, for some reason they were regular stock replacements, i was wondering the same thing? I expected them to be super cheap, but they weren't :?: :!: :?: These will do i guess  , but yeah i went in there expecting to either order them or buy them right then and there. - Mike - 07-16-2004 Dave Wrote:MichaelJComputer Wrote:rotors shouldn't ever be more than $25/ea unless you're getting pimpy shit :?oh yeah? try $73 each for fronts and that's with a major discout ($100/rotor retail) Rears are $130 a peice (w/ discount), in case you wanted to know. wtf!? - CaptainHenreh - 07-16-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:Dave Wrote:MichaelJComputer Wrote:rotors shouldn't ever be more than $25/ea unless you're getting pimpy shit :?oh yeah? try $73 each for fronts and that's with a major discout ($100/rotor retail) Rears are $130 a peice (w/ discount), in case you wanted to know. wtf, Indeed. Dave and I pay out our asses for rotors. Me with my 300ZX brakes, and dave with his TT brakes. The cheapest (and I do mean cheapest) I've ever seen my rotors is 50 bucks a side, but that's for el-shit generic rotors. If I wanted just a nice, OEM quality rotor, I'm looking at about 100 bucks. Hell, even a junkyard wants 35 bucks a side. - Ryan T - 07-16-2004 Dave, rotors can be had cheaper. http://www.partsamerica.com/SelectParts ... sc%2FRotor - Sijray21 - 07-16-2004 still more expensive than carbotech, lol $43.88 /ea. for this one found on that site those are the rears, which are usually cheaper too I did find other civic one's for $28.xx, but they were for lx/dx - 83Rabbit - 07-16-2004 Yea, if only my Corrados 11.3'' brake rotors were 25 each  - ButtDyno - 07-16-2004 Carbotech sells Axxis pads? Eh? I like Carbotech, but their website is a crime on humanity. john - Sijray21 - 07-16-2004 ButtDyno Wrote:Carbotech sells Axxis pads? Eh? Yeah their website needs help... The person i talked to said that they're in the process of brining up a whole new site and the system of making orders and such since the system as of now isn't secure. lol, the pictures of the animals, hahaha - Mike - 07-16-2004 CaptainHenreh Wrote:MichaelJComputer Wrote:Dave Wrote:MichaelJComputer Wrote:rotors shouldn't ever be more than $25/ea unless you're getting pimpy shit :?oh yeah? try $73 each for fronts and that's with a major discout ($100/rotor retail) Rears are $130 a peice (w/ discount), in case you wanted to know. Can I ask you the difference between "el-shit generic" and an "OEM quality" rotor? - .RJ - 07-17-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:Can I ask you the difference between "el-shit generic" and an "OEM quality" rotor? Quality, supposedly but I havent noticed any difference in wear between centric (what carbotech sells) and vatozone el-shits. - Mike - 07-18-2004 .RJ Wrote:MichaelJComputer Wrote:Can I ask you the difference between "el-shit generic" and an "OEM quality" rotor? Precisely... Nothing noticeable. - Evan - 07-18-2004 ButtDyno Wrote:I like Carbotech, but their website is a crime on humanity. laadeedaaa...... - .RJ - 07-18-2004 Seriously, those donkeys need to get that fixed! - Maengelito - 08-21-2006 back from the dead... so my rear pads are all burned up. i call up matt @ carbotech last thurs afternoon and tell him i need rear pads. he looks them up for my car. matt: hmm, looks like we dont have them in stock right now. i'll have to make them. when do you need them by? me: uh, i'm goin to summit next weekend matt: okay, i can have them out to you by thursday if thats okay. me: sure so i notice my card is charged on friday which means that they probably shipped the pads. i get home from work today and they're here. 3 days ahead of when he said he'd deliver. huge thumbsup to carbotech edit: oh yeah, and their website is just plain atrocious - white_2kgt - 08-21-2006 Maengelito Wrote:back from the dead... I call them 1 month before I needed pads for the last VIR. Told them what I needed, no problem, we have those in stock. I wait 2 weeks, nothing. I call them up, oh we were waiting on compound for your fronts XP10 (I ordered 2 set of rears, 9,10 and 2 sets of fronts, 10/12's). I said well I need them now, I have a race in 2 weeks. They he-hamed about having to do extra work and whatnot, I get them the tuesday before summit. This was w/ a 1 month lead time and 2 days shipping. I like it better when their customer service sucked and they actually shipped pads out early. Now don't get me wrong, I love carbotech pads. Maengelito Wrote:edit: oh yeah, and their website is just plain atrocious No shit, which is why I have their phone number on speed dial. |
