Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post

am I the only one that didn't like the lack of information in GoW? I can't tell who's on my team, everyone's grey/black, the environments are dark, I don't know wtf is going on. I "get it" that maybe they were trying to better simulate an actual situation? I liked other things about it, but for me, the blackness/confusion didn't work.

So this system is silly. Picked up Rainbow 6: Vegas last night... just amazing.

Also played Wii last night. It's a good party system, but I couldn't own ONLY it. Very gimmicky and shallow gameplay, but fun with friends.

How is PG3 compared to the first two? I like the first ones but once they got very difficult it became impossible and I lost interest in them.

BTW, i put in a bid on fight night.

i like pg3 FAR more than the other two. i beat it on the normal difficulty with ease. there are A LOT of races (i'd guess 150 or so) so it did take me a few weeks of off/on, but it is very doable.

most people give it a 10. i really haven't played it since i beat it so i'm guessing my rating wasn't too accurate. if a game keeps brining me back, it's a great. i'd say GoW is very impressive, but not great.

I was addicted to that game when I was home over christmas, but I do know what you're saying. When we first played it we had it on an hdtv and it looked incredible, I never even noticed that it was dark and could easily see who was who. We then moved it to a regular tv and suddenly it became really hard to see what was going on.

The best thing about GoW is the online play. I just think it needs two things revamped to make it perfect:
1) An unlimited kill type game, similar to Halo in which whichever team has the most kills at teh end of a time period (or, whoever hits a certain number first) wins
2) A complete overhaul of the sniper rifle. I've gotten pretty good at it, but the reload, even when you hit an active reload, takes WAY too long. It's also really rare that you down someone with the sniper rifle unless you have an active reload charged. It is extremely frustrating that you have only one bullet in the chamber. If they made it 3 or 4, similar to Halos, or gave it a faster reload, it would be much better.

Otherwise, it's intense gameplay... I'm still enjoying it until Halo 3 comes out =)

Going to pick up Lost Planet today, I'll post up a review after I've played it for a bit. Supposedly the multiplayer in that game is really fun too.

I'm usually on monday and tuesday nights until 3am or better with coworkers. Sometimes I'll randomly get on during the week, but I'm usually too busy working out or going out with ppl.

picked up some games off of ebay the other day... viva pinata is awesome, marvel ultimate alliance is fun with friends, and i haven't had a chance to pop fuzion frenzy 2 in yet...

in other news, it seems my laser is dirty. 90% of the time games are read as DVDs, resulting in an error. in the odd chance that it does read it as a game, it is choppy as hell. i have a feeling it was a result of my humidifier, which has baking soda in the filter and puts a little residue on things after a few weeks of use... should not affect a freaking xbox 360, though... support was good. obviously in india, but her english was very good and they was no major fuss over the issue. they're sending me a box, i'm tossing the system in, and within approximately 10 business days i'll have it back. i wish they'd just give me permission to pop it open and clean the laser; i'm sure that's what the problem is. oh well... i've got a lot of reading to catch up on anyway.

+1 for Fight Night... definitely a really fun game to play against your friends.

I've made it most of the way through Lost Planet and I really like the single player mode. At first I thought the thermal energy replenishment was going to be really gay, but you adjust to it quickly and there is so much stuff that oozes it out that you rarely run low unless you're getting fucked up in battle.

The big creatures, especially the bosses, make the battles feel really epic and overwhelming. There's something so satisfying about killing a creature that takes up the whole room :lol:

I haven't tried multiplayer yet, because most of my XBOXing is done on GoW on Live. From what I hear it's not that great though because the maps are WAY too big and it takes forever to find someone to kill.

OMG ha ha ha, i've been playing on the XBOX's lowest resolution for a really long time apparently. I bumped it up to 1080i when I was messing around with some settings today and I popped in GoW. I was like oh wow, this is a lot better... what a retard I am.

wow, you're a HUGE idiot. anyway, my xbox crapped out a few weeks back; somehing about it not recognizing xbox games as xbox games. it instead saw them as dvds so when the dvd reader saw it, it played the video track that says "this is a game, play it in an xbox console." i sent it back, all really effortless, and my new one is here. have been playing crackdown for the past few days and am contemplating picking up nba street homecourt. i got fuzion frenzy 2, but it is beyond awful (i really liked the first one) so it was sold on ebay after it's first play.
