HOT SHIT! The guy (who I lived with Freshman year and rarely see) called me up and says "Hey, my Grandfather bought me a new car for Christmas so I don't need the old K-car anymore...you want it?" We are meeting up in the next day or two and doing the paperwork over lunch. Hes gifting it to me, all it needs is a new (or gutted) cat and it will be running great!
That would be the end of it normally...I would turn around a fix it and flip it for a few hundred bucks and be done with it. But...

The gears began grinding as soon as he called...a plan developed. So I have this 86 NewYorker I picked up for $50. Its a chunk of shit and I am not going to save it. So basically it becomes nothing more then a drivetrain to save for a rainy day. But, if I have an early turbo engine with a K-car harness and computers...and a really nice low mile k-wagon...I will build a 2.2L T1 wagon!! The engine from the wagon in turn will be dropped down in our Omni and Sylvia will take it to use over the rest of the winter! BRILLIANT! 3 broken cars = two working cars. The Turbo wagon..if all goes to plan...should be cheap and easy and I can sell it and hopefully make a decent profit. Turbo Wagons were never built for the general public (some were for the air force) so some TD person will give me a decent sum for a pre-converted car.
EXCITEMENT!!! This will begin in the next week or two. The NewYorker will first be stripped and all useful parts banked for later. Oh and for the haters and critics. The Daytona will not be getting done any later because of this. I have already decided to put it off until the summer. This will be a pet winter project to keep me turning wrenches and get one car gone, one car fixed, and a new one to make some dividends.
