Wearing a watch is not just about the ability to tell the time, in that video I posted with John Mayer he said it best. For those of us not stuck in a cubicle or staring at a computer screen all day and are out shaking hands and kissing babies it's the little things that go a long way~

I had been looking for a metal watch to wear.
Conveniently got 100 points to spend on my companies rewards website after wrapping up the current project im on. 100 points = approx $100. They had some stuff on there like gift cards to certain retailers, (no Amazon or Visa gift cards unfortunately) and ran across this fossil watch. I think it will fit the bill, nothing as fancy as what you guys are rocking but for free99 I will take it. Simple, stainless band/case, black face, with some dial things I will never use but like the look of. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.fossil.com/en_US/shop/men/watch_styles/steel_dress/dean_stainless_steel_watch-fs4542p.html">http://www.fossil.com/en_US/shop/men/wa ... 4542p.html</a><!-- m --> ![]()

Looks great! Also looks pretty sturdy and with an 11 year warranty that is about 9 years longer than most of the ultra high end watch companies offer. Any decent chronograph for under $100 is definitely a nice find.
45mm is a decent size, it should wear "large" on your wrist but won't look gaudy like those ridiculous Diesel watches. I prefer larger cases / faces but anything over 48mm can get ridiculous really quick.

After much deliberation I settled on my first high quality swiss auto, a diver from Oris one of my favorite companies:
The previous gen 733-7533-8555MB ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I went with the prior gen diver vs the Aquis due to the scalloped dial face which I thought looked more interesting (Omega-esque) than the new plain face it also has a slightly bigger case and more interesting features. I cross shopped the Titan and "small second hand" versions but I was looking for a skeletonized back specifically which they did not have. Takes a few weeks from Jomashop so I'll post up some pics when it arrives. Also had a few Amex rewards points left so I synced them to Amazon and snagged two NATO bands for my carbon fiber diver and Protrek PRG-130Y and a Heiden dual watch winder. I went back and forth on the idea of a winder because I will probably be wearing the Oris a lot but as the collection grows I figured it couldn't hurt.

On the high end of their series (Grand Carreras etc) I think they are too overpriced for what they are. They start reaching into Rolex / IWC / Patek territory, all of which carry a lot more heritage, build quality and brand strength than Tag Heuer. That is why all three of those brands hold such crazy high resale value. On their models in the $1-3k range you're going to get a better value and a decent watch although still like I said not as reliable or solidly built as other choices you have at that price point.

yeah, I've been eyeing a couple of the lower end Tags. I feel like they're "cheap" enough to wear everyday to work but still nice enough as a luxo watch. But I agree, once you look at the more expensive Tags, you might as well go Rolex/Patek.

Desk diver arrived, had it sized and absolutely love it. A lot heavier than I thought it would be. Fit and finish is top notch. I love how the clasp has a micro adjustment ability that you can set with a toothpick for a better fit. I had it on the winder last night on the recommended settings but it died anyway so I may need to bump up the turns per day.
![]() ![]() ![]() Excellent lume, really bright. I charged it up before I went to bed the other night and woke up 4 hours later to it still glowing on the winder. ![]() ![]()
