I know I'm late to the show but just wanted to echo what everyone else said. A great weekend was had by all. A big thanks to all the workers who are hardcore as hell. The current students were hilarious and it was great to see you guys. Fresh blood always makes the weekend better.
Instructor clinic was awesome and my student in the Elise was great. If you haven't ridden in a Lotus, do so. They are magic on wheels. I actually enjoyed instructing more than I did driving but that probably had more to do with my driving
I wrinkled my rear end, trunklid and I lost my spoiler. I'll take a pic tonight. But like true Toyota quality, I was able to drive the car home with a problem. If I can find a replacement trunklid by this weekend, I'm still hoping to make it to the trackdaze event.
Two feet.

Sadly, it was the work of two separate incidents. I'm in the process of trying to sack up and take the rollercoaster in 4th. When I arrived at hogpen, I ran out of real estate, traction and ideas so the tire wall took out the 2/3s of the spoiler.
The second off happened at south bend. This one was all on me being lazy and careless. That off was pretty bad cause it bent up the trunk lid, rear quarter and the front drivers.
Oh well. This is what a track car is for. I'm pretty happy my safety equipment worked out so well.
Two feet.
glad you're alright Andy. and hey you're taking it pretty well, that's definitely a good attitude to have for getting a car a little wrinkled.

mike is concerned with people in his group going off (and making contact) twice in a weekend. he would like to share those concerns.

especially those that are usually supposed to set an example. first and foremost, i'm glad that andy's okay, but contact with a tirewall twice in one weekend does have me a bit concerned

well then maybe you guys should invite Andy over for tea so you can tell him that you care and you are worried about him.
in the meantime, it would probably benefit you to worry about your own driving more than Andy's.
I'm not taking anything personally. I'm thinking about ways to improve and getting better at what I do. Preparation or the lack there of was probably a big culprit for the tirewall. I'll be better about prepping for the track and so far as me pushing myself, I still haven't found the right balance between improvement and risk. It's all food for thought.

andy, how often have you been having instructors in your car? also, i'm sure unkefer (or whoever taught the clinic this weekend) went over it, but offs with students or passengers is majorly frowned upon. i'd back off a tenth or so and slowly come back to where you are... of course, you've been through all the training... you know this. it sounds like you're just trying to take too big of bites.

Evan Wrote:in the meantime, it would probably benefit you to worry about your own driving more than Andy's. I think that any driver that shares a run group with another driver has every right to be concerned about the actions of that driver. I've had numerous instructors (including yourself) that have come in after a session and reported about actions of another driver that we (NASA) should be aware of, and should probably discuss with that driver.
This isn't meant as a slight against Andy, we all know him and know he's a responsible driver. Anyone that has two offs in a single weekend that result in damage though needs to take a step back and evaluate themselves. Andy's attitude about the offs shows real maturity, and it's obvious he's not making light of them. I'd second Mike's suggestion, you may want to back it off a tenth or so and slowly come back up to where you are.

I have engine bay and cage shots of this car. I had to weight it in at least 4 times on saturday so they could see how much fuel they were burning for the enduro.
