I'll encourage my daughters to not have affairs with their married superiors, and you go ahead and be disappointed.

Ok fine forgive me for that too.
This entire thread is either sarcasm or wet single ply defenses of the worst Americans to ever participate in politics.
Glad we could draw a line at "flippantly referencing things that happened"

I dont know how anyone can make a good faith argument against any of Biden's flaws, whether real fabricated or real. I'm not a fan of whataboutism however one of these men WILL be our next President. Nepotism over Hunter Biden? Give me a break. Sexual assault allegations? Yeah, valid concern but there are literally dozens of legitimate allegations against Trump.
Anyone who has actually followed the news on a daily basis knows everything that comes out of Trump's mouth about the ACA and his Covid response is complete stinking bullshit. He's pissed away 4 years in power without delivering the ACA replacement he's been promising (same as all of his other promises), and he fucked off, ignored warnings and lied to us for months before the pandemic hit the US, and then just kept on lying for the rest of the year. A hard two week shutdown at the end of February was all we needed, failing simply that stepping back and recommending people trust the experts rather than encouraging anti-masking and holding undistanced rallies (that literally killed Herman Cain) would've been far less damaging.
Also call me a panicky liberal snowflake all you want but encouraging his "proud boys" to "watch" the polls is fucking concerning.
All good points and Trump's short-comings. The thing is that having your supporters watching the polls isn't that weird. I thought democrats were mostly going to send in their ballots by mail??
JUST A CLEAR UP:
After looking into my claims that Biden 1) stepped out of the earpiece agreement, and 2) that he wanted breaks are NOT completely supported by facts.
I want you guys to know I am not just a random Trump supporter (although I never said I was on board with him). I also want you to know that I am open to saying when I am wrong, so accept my apology for saying something that was not fully supported by all.

don't worry, as much as it may seem that attacks are personal the art of actual debate and conversation are what drives growth. discussing ideas in a respectful manner with people of differing opinions appears to be something of the past. debate (as shown by the president and the former VP) is currently a lost form as it's pretty clear that current politics is as divisive as i've ever seen it. being able to discuss differing opinions supported by facts and values are the ideas that sculpt our core values/beliefs which can change over time; i know mine have and are still growing/adjusting as i take everything in.
with technology now it's so easy to regurgitate what we see/read and to assume it's fact since there appears to be an importance placed on who broke the 'story' first (driven by advertising clicks or recognition, then going viral) instead of ensuring that the 'story' is accurate.

All good, i meant my response/question genuinely. I'm generally wary of any story that is from clearly one sided sources (same if it was HuffPost, Slate, New Yorker.)
However, the bit about watching polls, there's no two ways about that; it's voter intimidation. If someone, especially a minority, walks up to see white (probably armed) Proud Boys "watching" the polls, yeah you're going to have second thoughts and possibly walk away. Also, it's not just democrats who are going mail in their ballots.

I like how Trump's response to questions about voting integrity is breaking laws meant to protect voting integrity.

They have to stand down and let law enforcement do their work."
Now I'm not completely sure if he does or does not know who they are, but one thing is for sure: he misspoke, and we need to acknowledge what he is saying now, and not just what he said during the debate.
Even if we are talking about the Proud Boys group, they are run by a black Cuban (Enrique Tarrio who btw didn't think that 'stand by' was a call to action, rather to let the police do their job), and have black members. They are NOT a white supremacist group.

The only mention of the Proud Boys in the entire debate was by Trump.
He was asked to denounce white supremacists.
He doesn't get much credit for saying he doesn't know much about a link he made.

Just stop. If you didn't know who a group was, why wouldn't you just denounce white supremacists entirely? He is afraid to lose their votes.
You can keep parroting Fox news but the FBI says you're wrong.

Okay, you have repeatedly criticized the Vice President for not specifically calling out antifa and other left-wing groups. But are you willing, tonight, to condemn white supremacists and militia groups? And to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities, as we saw in Kenosha, as we've seen in Portland? Are you prepared specifically to do that?
1:04:46 TRUMP
Sure, I’m prepared to do it. I would say- I would say, almost everything I see is from the left-wing, not from the right wing-
1:05:55 WALLACE
So what do you, what do you say-
1:04:56 TRUMP
I'm willing to do anything I want to see peace.

Then do it, sir.

Say it, do it, say it.

You want to call them -- What do you want to call them? Give me a name, give me --
1:05:04 WALLACE
White supremacists and, white supremacists and right-wing --
1:05:07 BIDEN
The Proud Boys.
1:05:07 TRUMP
Proud Boys, stand back and stand by. But I'll tell you what, I'll tell you what, somebody's got to do something about antifa and the left because this is not a right-wing problem. This is a left-wing problem...

Trump did not bring up the proud boys, but he did not condemn white supremacists either.

"I have a black friend, I can't be racist!" is basically what this statement is. Also, Gavin McInnes runs and founded Proud Boys.

All they have to do is say the 5 second soundbite thing people want to hear and instead everything about this administration is being confrontational, combative so they can what, pwn the libs for more clicks? The whole thing could have gotten turned into a nothingburger in short order.
Its just exhausting.
