Most likely a boost leak. I've had it a few times on my WRX after changing around intercoolers so frequently. Look for the hoses from the y pipe first, if that's not it then make sure the clamp is tight on your other one. If you have a blow off valve there is a hose that sometimes gets pulled (assuming it's the same as my 02) that would come apart every once in a while.

Did the 02s come with a y pipe? My wrx doesnt have one.

As soon as I get the clamps, I am going to take it apart and re-tighten down everything.

I hope its not the BPV hose, I heard thats a pain in the ass to get to.

More than likely a boost leak. My guess is on the worm clamps not being tightened enough, good call upgrading to T-bolt clamp, the worm clamps are garbage on IC piping. I have a boost leak tester if you want to use it, or is it a huge PITA to hook on up on a Subaru?

I am sitting at Mach v now waiting on the fenders to be rolled.

They told me that they think it is probably either the IC tubing connections or the bypass valve not having a proper seal.

I remember yesterday that the gasket on the BPV was kinda shitty looking.

I have a new cobb bpv coming today so if it is the BPV, I'm not too worried about it.

Hopefully it will be all sorted out before this weekend.

Turned out to be that the tb to IC hose came off.

Nice dude that's an easy fix. We were all pretty close...most of us have blown up piping (or worse in my case) more than once :lol:

Sadly, I will have to be taking a break on upgrading the car.

Grace and I are in the market for another house and we now need to pinch pennies (whatever that means). We are looking at a townhouse in a brand new neighborhood and might get a call this weekend to put a lot hold deposit down if we want the place.

Remaining Mods:

Power:
Install Electronic Boost Control
Might switch from Catless DP to a Catted DP
Protune

Suspension:
Front Sway Bars
Rear Sway Bars

All of those mods are fairly inexpensive except for the tune. Do it and save up for the tune!

I already have the EBC just cant put it on until the tune.

suspension is about 500 with bars, bushings and new end links
tune is 300 - 500 depending on which tuner i go with
catted dp would be about 500 with 2 bungs, one for AFR plug but i could sell my catless for 250

So Id be looking at around 1500 total.
