SlimKlim Wrote:So glad I decided to run the Miata and not the BMW, that little thing has the fight in 'er, I was pleasantly surprised at how well composed it was and how easy it was to control the back end. I don't think I could've had any more fun with my pants still on.
Waiting for Ray to upload his pictures so I can see how much fender I was draggin.
If your waitin' on me then you're backin' up

Thanks to Bruce Crow for taking pictures during the 4th group while I was driving. Check back as there might be more in a few days

w00t!! That was fun. As usual, ax'ing was a blast but I had more fun being back in H'burg seeing people old and new. Big thanks to everyone who organized and took part!
so who won the college challenge????
Just to add, everyone did an AMAZING job yesterday with driving, working and being ready for yesterday's event. MM had a great presence, soooo many purple shirts! Thank you all for getting to the autocross quickly and having your cars ready for tech, when you've got an event with 90 something entries it really helps out. Thanks again for coming out despite the soggy beginning of the day!
^^ Holy chit.
I'll add my two cents in... BIG thank-yous are in order for...
Dave Lingenfelter for offering his STS Miata, even though the "tire temps" reasoning didn't shake out quite as planned. Was a blast pushing it around the course when it was so damp out! Ray for accomodating my insane schedule on Sunday so I could somehow autocross and DJ a wedding within hours of each other. Cody for opening up his house on Saturday night for the get-together... shame no other schools showed up, after they told everyone they would. Slackers. The officers for getting a great MM turnout at the event... between driving and spectating there was a ton of purple wandering around and it was great to see!
I wish I could have stayed longer on Sunday... as it was, I had to cut it veryyyy close in getting up to Sterling. I was fortunate that I saw zero blue-light-special Crown Vics the entire drive home.
Had a fun battle with Dr. Thomas for a few runs Sunday morning in which we took turns pulling FTD back and forth. He did get me eventually. Saturday was a good time, too, if a bit hectic. I think there were too many people there on Saturday to make the day's format go smoothly and allow for enough run time. Lessons to learn for next year...

That's all that I took. I'll check with the other photographer to see if / when there will be others.

There won't be any more "official" BRR photos from Sunday. Keep an eye on the BRR forum to see if other people post their pictures.

Absolutely a blast, didnt get really get any runs without people in the car (apparently obnoxious wings and stickers get peoples attention). Everytime I autox it reminds me of how I want a car that fits SCCA rulebook so bad. I still think autox requires more skill than road racing by far and im glad I get the chance to do it as much as possible, has helped my right foot tremendously. I also for the first time found a glaring error in my autox driving skills that is lacking from my toolbag. Left foot braking, I noticed around the course in multiple places that left foot braking would have let me pull serious time on course. Its something that has crept in on my recent road racing events, but it was obvious to me at this event how much it would have helped. This weekend's trackdaze I will be focusing on left-foot braking.
Kyle has some good photos up on facebook if he wouldnt mind me sharing them.

The camera died before you got to the line the first time Sunday. I'll have to rig some kind of power for it.
