When you're renting the best karting facility in VA for 2 hours, you kind of take what you can get. 10am-12pm is the time they gave us nearly two months ago.

I'm not really complaining about the time, it just seemed silly that I (and I imagine ~35 other people?) get to find out less than 48 hours beforehand when it was known two months ago. It's ok, I just had to completely change my plans. :dunno: I'm glad you happened to mention it before everyone showed up an hour late!

Seriously, no hard feelings, it's just like... "classic"! :lol:

You guys might want to PM or better yet, email everyone to make sure they know the time is 10 am (9:45). I was operating under the impression that it was 11 am as well.

I can't really account for the error in the first post since I didn't make it but every current student knows the correct time, sorry and I hope that typo didn't throw too many of you off! I think G-Force juggled our time around a bit when we were first planning this (as a 3 hour event) so maybe that threw us off. Regardless it is 10am-12pm just so everyone knows

Not trying to assign fault, that's not really relevant. If all of the students know what time to be there then that's half the battle but all of the non-students may not know, based on the error in the first post.

I'm just saying that maybe you guys should send out an email to those people to be sure they know so we don't end up with a bunch of people showing up way late.

i too was thinking it started at 11 instead of 10 but i'm glad this was straightened out. i'm not sure how many students will be required to do that initial 15 minute race (do they even do that anymore?) but keep in mind that it'll take some time for everyone to fill out one of those waiver sheets, get teams organized, do the briefing, etc.

I am driving down and back to Staunton to pick up my girlfriend to head to virginia tech... She was on the wait list (although unconfirmed about actually going or not and got added to the participant list somehow [probably miscommunication on my part]) but cannot make the morning trip. So basically I can take people down (1 comfortably and two in the back seat semi uncomfortably) but I can't drive them back... see yall in the morn

Great event everyone! Glad you could all make it out and we had a great turnout with lots of real good racing. Pretty much everyone was cutting some damn good times and I hope some alums got the chance to meet and talk to some students and vice versa. Looking forward to the pics, esp. the group shot!

Karting was a blast. Glad I finally made it out to GForce. I got a sweet bruise and some popped blood vessels for the efforts. All in all, good event. Big thanks to the officers and anyone else who contributed to the effort.

Had a great time today!! As my second time, karting just got better and better! Great meeting some more people/alums, and helping Team DonkeyPunch finish strong!

to reiterate what everyone else said, i had an absolute blast karting (as always) and thanks to the officers for making this all happen. good work guys! thanks to ralph for the suby shwag, free pizza and helping team shocker to a strong finish on the lead lap.
