You get em to fix that shit. Have a talk with your realtor and PM. You can hold up closing cause it doesn't match the floor plan. The standard 36" fridge opening we were told we were getting measures 35.75 (which most 36" fridges seem to come in around 35.8 ) before the counters are on and that's with pulling the baseboard trim. It's a wall that I've already complained about being extremely bowed. I have a feeling they're not going to fix it and we'll be stuck with 33" fridge options

So they just walk around with a stack of listings seeing what houses are vacant? I only went to the door because the dog was going apeshit and she doesnt normally bark at anything and they were just standing on the front steps.

i'm not really sure what the tactics for criminals, but the in-laws' house is up on a hill and somewhat secluded. it's one of those 5000 sq*ft homes and could easily be broken into if vacant. the people who just rolled up to the house were surprised to see that they were home and according to them didn't look like they were there to see the house for purchase, according to them (not really sure what that means). They took the keybox off the door after that an only left it on for appointments.
You know how the kitchen spits in your food if you send it back at a restaurant? Somebody is going to drop a deuce in between your drywall.
Selling a house is a miserable process. I was ecstatic when someone finally came in with a solid cash offer when our townhouse was on the market.
From experience, the eastern Euro people come by to attempt to lowball purchase. We had a set of those. Maybe they are a syndicate

Maybe.
And an agent that scheduled showings twice yesterday on short notice then didnt show up for either of them. And with the house on the market now 5 days I'm starting to get a little worried. We supposedly have one interested buyer and their agent thinks its the right house/price/location but they need to write a contract or get off the pot.

Uh you're good dude, try two months with only one lowball offer and carrying two mortgages. Our HOA fees jumped to $300 / month due to widespread water damage throughout the neighborhood so nobody wanted to touch it even though it's in an incredible area. Just super glad the buyer came along when they did, what's odd is that it's sat vacant for over 2 years. I knew they were buying as an investment but they didn't even try to rent it out. My wife's old flower planters are still hanging on the deck.

Are they Chinese? Lot cheaper to park their money here... No. The guy I looked up has two homes (sfh) in Herndon and one sfh in great falls. All in the same shape. I believe he lives in Hilo, HI and is a lawyer...
A tree fell onto his back neighbor almost hitting his house (saved by his own tree) , that neighbor cut it down and sued him for the cost of removal, and the douche counter sued for the value of the wood (and won)...

They were British and lived in a country club about a half mile up the road. I don't know what their intentions were but the check came from their LLC that was located at their home address. I'm guessing they just needed a place to park money and it wasn't a bad call. Zillow says (for what Zillow's worth) that it's gained over $30k since it sold almost exactly 2 years ago. But again, not including the cost of utilities, any maintenance and property tax, the HOA fees alone would have taken away $7,200 of that potential gain. I'm just surprised they haven't tried to rent it like every other house in that neighborhood, maybe they just couldn't be bothered to be landlords (I don't blame them)

Some people vastly underestimate how much goes into being a landlord.
Like mine, for example. Who, despite my constant reminders (via e-mail, text, etc,) forgot to send us a lease renewal. Now i'm care-free in a month to month lease and just told him we're moving out next month.

Well, that's what we are doing. But I have a fair amount of equity wrapped up in this joint and want to do some renovations on the new place and dont want to pay dubble mortgages.

A chinese name just bought this 1.7M place down the street from our house. It had been "for sale" for like 2 years for 2+ but the owner never lived in it, and rented it out for the 5 years since it was built. The tenants tried to buy, but I guess for not enough. I think you're onto something.
