Not sure where to post this, but c'mon.... Should not be out there if you can't comprehend track basics. Track official had tons of rights to be pissed and yell at you. "Teachable Moment" sure, but realize why they would be so pissed because of you. Don't try to blanket it up as things "weren't that bad". Fuck outta here.

That guy is a moron. Even Jalopnik was going in on this morning. Why he decided to bring it up a year later and try to play the innocent card is beyond me.

someone he's connected with locally (vinwiki, also based in atlanta) probably gave him a chance to tell a "funny" car story and he took the opportunity to frame it to reinforce that he's the good guy, since marketing that image of himself and his businesses appears to be the only way his brain functions. everything about the guy is self promotional, buzzword addled horseshit and his kind of egomaniacal drive for adulation is hopefully going to be his undoing, at least as far as long term acceptance in amateur motorsports. he's a menace and a toxic personality. i've been around road atlanta, you don't f around at that track, people get really hurt there all the time.
i love his "well when i was racing in europe" line. as if yellow flags only mean what they mean here in the US. if you get a comp license its fair to assume you understand how the flag system works and are familiar enough with a track to be aware of where the stations are located. currently it seems his only response is a non-apology that centers around still being salty that someone dared raise their voice to him and his checkbook.
FWIW i watched some vinwiki stuff for a while. lately, especially in the last year as their viewership grew, they've become more and more a bunch of twats basking in some increasingly awful past/present stories disguised as some kind of authentic car enthusiast core. cannonball idiocy, Rabbit basically conning people on ebay, tales of street racing, etc. now giving this sad business hack hot air bag a pedestal to spin a story. i'm done giving them views.

I'm just now listening to this video and am not clear why there's so much hate for this guy. He's obviously a bit cocky and loves attention, but that's not a new "driver" mentality we haven't seen before. He admits clearly he fucked up, he was probably in the car WAAAAY too long, and we could all learn something....? Seems reasonable to me. Now his "I'm not coming back because of that" response isn't how I would handle it, but whatever.
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a van is a good guy with a van
Because people get hurt or dead when you dont follow the flags

- he's a liscensed racecar driver and should know how to look for flags, because murder bad
- blamed his crew for not telling him there were flags out
- got butthurt the race director said angry things to him for almost killing people
- attempted to namedrop Henry Ford III and rich friends to shame race director for being super srs bzns meanie
- made a video that spun the situation so it made him look like he was verbally abused for a minor "teaching moment" error and made sure to also inflate his business success and supposed racing accumen while he was at it
- issued a half hearted non-apology that amounted to "i feel bad everyone can't see how unfair i was treated, also racism"
- continues to sift out all negative comments on personal social media pages bc ego's a hell of a drug
i fail to see how he doesn't deserve everyone's ridicule. the teaching moment is for all of us, not him, as an example of how money doesn't buy you skill or common sense. was the race director really angry, and maybe shouldn't have been? i doubt it, but its not my business to say how he runs his.

Cause he is fighting back against somebody raising his voice for passing cars at 99MPH mere feet from soft bodies (EV personnel cleaning up a wreck); and then continues to pass under yellow.
It's not "oh whoops I forgot 2-3 yellow flags". It's you missed ALL the yellow flags for multiple laps, continued passing cars under yellow after seeing EV crew on the ground and then saying "mea culpa BUT THE REAL PROBLEM IS AER FOR YELLING AT ME IN PIT LANE WITH LOUD CARS".
FYI He also made a whole video a couple years ago about how it was basically his instructor's fault for crashing his Lotus in his first track day. This guy just "screams" its NOT ME"
If you haven't watched it, go ahead and get some laughs in.

^^^ I'm with Scotty. Dude had a YEAR to learn from his ignorance and didn't learn shit. And he supposedly had a SCCA race license so there's really no excuse to do what he did. Then to grossly misrepresent what happened in a video where he's whining about how he was treated after he did dumb shit that could have been lethal, just blows my mind.
If you do something massively stupid like he did, take the L, and own up to it, fine. You'll just be that guy that did some stupid shit once. Maybe you earn a temporary ban. If you do what this guy did, then make a video demonstrating how you really don't get it (a year later no less), now you're the asshole who should be banned for the foreseeable future.

Pretty hilarious video of a guy working on getting a '69 Chevelle that hasn't run in 40 years to function in 48 hrs. ahead of a 500 mile road trip. I could see myself falling down the rabbit hole of the rest of his content...in fact I think I'll start on that now.
