Thought of something re Transformer docking being underpowered and overpriced. It's really no different than someone choosing a laptop with a docking station / port replicator. Desktops are cheaper and more powerful for the money, but some people don't want to buy a desktop for power and laptop for portability so they buy something to do double duty.

The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Man I don't see how you guys like Gun Bros so much. The gameplay is decently fun, but the interface is infuriating and slow. Every time you die you gotta wait for the refinery screen to load, then do the refining stuff, then you have to wait for the armory screen to load whether you're buying something or not, then you've gotta click on the world map and wait for that to load, then you can finally pick the same place you were playing five minutes ago and finally play again. For fuck's sake, would it be too much to ask to have a continue button every time you die?

I also hope neither of you bought Spirit HD for Android. It is sucky and slow on Android =/ I bought Pew Pew 2 last night too, and that's much better. Fiendishly hard though.

On another note, what photo services do you guys use? Flickr, Picasa, Instagram, Yfrog, Twitpic, Lockerz, etc?

Gun Bros - Every time I die, I usually want to do all that stuff. In the beginning I just wanted to churn levels, but you get to a point where the Bro Ops are your primary purpose and you're bouncing around worlds to accomplish them. With them sometimes comes changes in weapons and armor. The load between each is just a few seconds so I've never felt hindered.

I doubt I'll buy a game for a tablet in the foreseeable future. I haven't really bought in to the whole app/add-on purchase thing on any device.

Do you mean photo service for uploading pics with the device? Facebook... that's about it. I use Flickr and SmugMug for photography stuff, but not on the tablet.

No and high value add, respectively.

I don't buy add-ons for my XBox because my needs are met without doing so. Same for my tablet.

I know this is really hard for you to understand. We're just different that way. You buy a ton of $1-10 purchases. I spend thousands on a motorcycle that is always in the shop.

See, this is where the interface is fucking terrible. When you die, a modal dialog box should come up giving you the option to go back to the main menu, or play again. Why should someone who actually wants to play the game have to go through 6 clicks and multiple loads every. Single. Time. You. Die. That is stupid.

Imagine if you were playing Black Ops and every time you died in the game it made you go through that many steps to play again?

Customizing your character or doing the Bro Ops is cool and all, but you shouldn't be forced through all of that.

I look at it as, I'm paying $1 maybe $2 to play a game for as long as I want. Back when I used to go to the arcade I paid that to play for maybe 15-20 minutes. Free games are always welcome but you're pretty limited in the quality and variety of games you can play if you restrict yourself to free.

To be fair though, there are a lot more free games on Android than on iOS. I'd say vast majority of good games on iOS are paid.

I haven't even made it to Angry Birds yet.
Maybe I just don't play a breadth of stuff you guys do.

Dude you're being way too critical of gun bros...it's a free game! Yeah it sucks when you die, just don't die as much Tongue

I just wish the game was more complex with other add ons. I still haven't figured out how to open up any new planets...and I'm on Rev 4/5 for most of them.

A free-to-play game, isn't an excuse for shit UI. I'm not mad or anything because I haven't paid for anything, it's just that this major design flaw detracts from the enjoyment of the game. They'd make a lot more money if they fixed that part of it.

The revenue generation is centered on purchasing warbucks and forcing you to screens that reminds you that you need them for the cool shit is smart, IMO. :dunno:

Anyone get 3.2 yet?

I haven't played in several days, hence not completeing any missions.

Talked to a buddy today who said the Amazon App Store is money 'cause they offer a free normally paid app per day. He said they aren't always worthwhile, but he's gotten a few good games and apps that way.

If you're looking for add-on browsers, don't bother with Dolphin. It has the same typing lag as the stock. So far the best I've found is Firefox.

very different.

a tablet is insignificantly more portable than a laptop. you cant say you can take a tablet where you cant take a laptop. and much less functional. and could you see a tablet being your only computing platform?

a desktop is not portable at all, and a laptop is 95% as functional as a desktop
