Well. My head is warped 17 thousandths, top and bottom. Carquest cannot machine that, the head would need to be straightened. For all intents and purposes, the head is unusable.
Shitballs.
The good news is I've found another head, a VVTI head, but I've been assured it will work just fine. The problem is that I'm a little short on cash. So I need your help. I really need to sell my wheels (14X6, 4X100, +35), my 240SX body kit, and my Q45 MAFS. If you know ANYONE who needs those parts, I really need to sell them. 100 dollars for each, the wheels, the Q45 MAFS, and the 240SX VIS Invader kit. (side skirts and rear only). I also have a DIY air fuel meter I can sell, a really nice black ATX Computer case, my enormous intercooler core, some KYB GR2 struts and springs for a 240SX, and some other stuff as I think of it. I really want to get the Supra running, and I'm only this head away from finishing it.
I really appreciate all your help.

And I also have a FWD SR20DE engine. Full longblock, no accessories. Red VC: +10hp. Adjustable cam gears, +15 hp, and you know what kind of premium they pull right before race wars.
125 bucks. A deal at twice the price.

Will the q45 mafs work for silvia swaps? Maybe sell it to John. I'll keep an ear out at work though there isn't too may SE-R's around these parts.
Two feet.
what kind of case is it?

The Q45 MAFS will work with SR swaps so long as you have an AFC (just like any MAFS/Injector swap) or a JWT retune.
The case is, a case. If it has a brand name, I don't know it.
And andy, I've been trying to sell that mafs to john for 6 months, because he said he wanted it, but refuses to cough up cash for it.

Just as a note on Dale Engineering, yeah, they're all rednecks. But, they are rednecks that have grown up around powerful, expensive engines, and those guys know their stuff. They prepped and built my block for me, and since that time I have had the block at another shop for some other work, and the ASE Master Tech there, along with his buddies, said that they have never seen such a precise and perfect machining and assembly of a block, and they had to know who did it. This would be the same ASE tech and shop that built an 800HP turbo 2.3 for a drag car, and who assisted in the design of the XR Bonnaville Salt Flat 210mph NA 2.3 speed car.
Dale machines and assembles $14,000 engines for pro circle track teams, and they do it a lot. So, they might sounds dumb on the phone, but if you are nice to them, and patitent, and respectful, I can guarantee you won't find a better shop around.

oh, I've no doubt they knew their shit. But carquest was cheaper, and that was my concern at the moment.
HOWEVER.
Since the head is warped, do you know if they have the capacity to straighten it?

i'm sure they could shave it for you

Since it's warped up top, it would really need to be heated and clamped. I know it *can* be done, cuz there are companies that do it.
I just don't know if anyone local can do it, or how much it costs.

I'm sure hanging the car from the head didn't have much to do with warping it ;-)

That's what I thought, but the head is bowed up in the middle. The hooks are on either end of the head. If anything, hanging the car from the head helped to straighten the head.
But I have a good lead on a new head. Buy my shit.

Ok, so Venus-Auto hooked me up.
It's got low compression in one cylinder, but for my purposes it will serve me fine. Should be here next week, I have to pick it up in Waynesboro.

awesome find Rex, glad to see the project will continue!
Good news!
The Long Block is on the East Coast!!!
Bad News!
It's in Roanoke, not Waynesboro like it's supposed to be.
I've a call into Venus to see if they'll rectify the problem.

I have a feeling you have it covered, but if you need help hauling it, let me know.
