Ok. So the Supra got here at 6 this morning, and it needs some work done:
- Full engine gasket change
- Paint the valve cover (yellow has got to go!)
- Install hood struts
- Valve oil seals (possibly)
- Hook up turbo timer
- Paint turbo intake pipes (they ugly)
- Other misc. shit to be done.
Anyone interested in helping? Probably next week, maybe later. I want to get the supra running so I can sell the volvo and at least make an attempt to be debt-free.

As soon as the Z is back together, I'm definitely up for wrenching on the Supra. So yeah, I'll be available sometime in late 2007 :?

Dad and I finally got the beast started, and watched it spew coolant from the rad cap. It's definitely a head gasket. Or a cracked head. Or a cracked block. Definitely.
So while I was taking a load of shit to Mercy House, dad somehow crammed the Supra into our three car garage...which was already occupied by a Geo Metro, an Olds Silouette, and a 4WD John Deere.
The following has been completed:
- Valve covers removed
- Coilpacks removed and examined
- hood removed for easy access
- intake removed
- radiator drained
- shredded copper wire removed from around intake cam
Looks like the head and cams are going to need a nice kerosene bath to remove the remains of wire that I found underneath the intake cam valve cover. Oh well.
Tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that the hydraulic fan comes off, then the radiator, and I start removing belts and cams. By that time the gasket set should be here.

Where, indeed. Maybe some crazy japanese ricer was trying to make his intake cam into an electromagnet so that when he was drifting the magnet would pull the nose of his car north. At any rate, it wasn't on a lobe or a bucket or anything, and nothing appeared to be scored or scratched to me, so I think I'm O.K.
Now to figure out how this god-damned weird-ass hydraulic powered fan works. When my dad saw how it worked (belt driven hydraulic pump turns big-ass fan) he said, "Well aint that queer?" I said it was indeed as queer as a football bat. Then he suggested I dump that setup in favor of a normal electric fan. Hmm...

supposedly the hydro fan is extremely efficient and better than any electric fan. I haven't seen tests to prove it, nor can I justify the PITA factor, so I'd go with electrics too.
I wish I could explain the copper wire thing, but I never took the valve covers off before.

fixing the supra should be pretty simple:
1) Yank out that busted 1jz
2) Throw in a 7m-gte
3) Give it a metal headgasket
4) Boost the piss out of it.

Wait. I've never heard of a JZA70. Aren't you missing a number in front of the JZ and no number at the end, but two more letters instead? You must have a make-believe engine in there. I'd help, but alas, I'm way up in Fx County now. If you need any supra info though, between my friend Ryan, Dad, and I, we'll get an answer. Yay supra engines!!!! (BTW, I changed the oil in the lexus for the first time today...what a stupid place to put the oil filter!)

JZA70 Would be the chassis code.
JZ is the engine.
A is the chassis.
70 is the Generation.
Since my A70 supra has a 1JZ-GTE, it is a JZA70. Most MKIII Supras are MA70's, since they have the 7M-G(t)E engine. MkIV Supras are JZA80.
YOU have a JZE10. JZ for the Engine (2JZ-GE) E for your Chassis, and 10 for your (first) Generation. If you had the 2 liter four, like they do in other countries, you'd have a SE10.
A SC300 is a JZZ31, the SC400 is a UZZ30, and the 1JZ-GTE Soarer is a JZZ30. Finally, a JZX10 is a Toyota Chaser:

On a happier note, the Gasket Set came today. Wow. I wasn't expecting so much, it was like Christmas. Cam seals, valve seals little rubber grommets, intake and exhaust gaskets, it was craziness. I definitely got a good deal. I'll be working on it tomorrow evening, and thursday.
