You can't miss the tech shed. It's at the far end of the paddock between timing and scoring and the concession area.

Super hyped for my first Hyperfest! I am going to be working Friday-Sunday (Grid, maybe with Brandon on pit out again). Also gonna hopefully take part in the Power wheels down hill event. Super stocked to go to VIR again, last time was a blast!

Printing out the XLS sheet for the gate worker would negate the need to hope and pray my cell phone has enough service to pull up the bar code at the gate. Which will be slow as ill have to unhook from the 6pt harnesses and get out of the car to get my cell phone (adding to more gate delays)
Last HPDE at NCCAR I did required no BS and there was only 1 building on premises (directly beside parking/tech) so it was a lot easier to figure out. Thanks for the map! That should help a lot. Tech shed is labeled C, just look for the group of literally everyone else walking to it in the morning, truly can’t miss it.

Its labeled D. But seriously... once you get there you can ask anyone in the tech shed and they can point to it. Things don't change much on the track side... even for Hyperfest.

Hyperfest is a very different event from all other NASA M-A weekends given the sheer volume of people who attend. Getting 400+ drivers checked in alongside spectators (who will number in the thousands) is a big process. The event email, which was sent already, will get you a link to receive your electronic ticket. This can be printed out, or can be accessed via email/added to your iOS Wallet if you use that platform.
Providing a list of people registered to gate staff would be remarkably inefficient when you are talking 10,000+ people to look through to find one name. You mentioned a concern about cell phone signal, it is very strong throughout the property and surrounding roads getting to VIR. I use Sprint and get full LTE signal, that should eliminate those fears. Not sure why you're keeping your phone in the trunk, feel free to use a pocket to help speed things up at the gate, or print the ticket off ahead of time.

The tech shed is in the main (North) paddock, head in to the paddock and hang a right. Big red wooden building that will likely have a lot of track cars funneling through it. The classroom is parallel to the tech shed, closer to the front straight of the track. There should be signage posted as well to help direct you once you are inside the track grounds.
Appreciate the offer to help with web services, there are actually several of us who have been on staff a long time working to improve the general customer experience. It is a very, very slow process as there is coordination required with NASA Nationals in California as well as the M-A leadership, and many people seem resistant to change. Hopefully the emails have been easier to read than in years past and starting with Hyperfest, the printed/PDF'd schedules are easier to consume than in years past. We've started there but want to continue to improve things.

The car has no interior/pocket/place for a phone and I fear the phablet will break if in my pocket, and I'd rather not trust a $1200 device to duct tape on the dash for a ~2hr drive on PIC R3s. Car is a hatchback(no trunk), and plan was to stow the phone in my bin I am bringing, and since the car is fully caged I doubt ill be able to reach into my bin from my racing seat that I squeeze into. I do not, nor will I ever, own a printer as that's a waste of trees/money after the year 2000, due to advances in technology. An alphabetical list of 400 drivers is not that bad, our AX group has 120-140 at many events and it takes very little time and there isnt much of a gate backup with 2 people checking off the list. You're not checking "thousands" because of the boolean "are you registered to drive at this event or spectating".
The schedule link was NOT in the email (nor were PDFs attached), i had to link off the email to a page, then link off that page to another page, which had a link to the PDF (that wasnt very easily seen as my eyes went straight to HPDE information, and it was further down the page). This is a highly inefficient process and why I couldnt find it the first 5 times I went through the links. Redundancy of the PDF schedule links would have helped greatly here, then I wouldnt have been confused. So far the instructions do not seem new comer friendly, hopefully some of my feedback can be taken into consideration, or possibly dont allow first timers of VIR at Hyperfest because they have too many questions?
On the topics of printers, is there a website where I can do the tech form ahead of time? Also, will there be some printed out and available to fill out at the event, or am I going to have to make a trip to staples/office depot to waste a tree?
I'm gonna have a lot more questions, bring the hate I'm a seasoned veteran. I never said it sucked fwiw. I said it's bullshit in this day and age, which it is . But seems to be fairly par for the course (which I'd love to try and change)

I generally put my bin in the passenger seat and i cant reach up over the top of it and into it while sitting and it completely takes up the seat perfectly. I'll try to find a safe place, but making the gate line get longer may just force them to fix their process too

If you're complaining about it being a complicated weekend, you shouldn't have picked HYPERFEST to be your first one back with the group. Literally any other weekend, you sign your name and drive in. You absolutely can't compare this to any other event.
That said, I can see how it would be confusing. There's progress made every year to make it better. I'm sure your feedback will be useful.

Yea, or just ask questions and clarify all the things with the folks that have experience with it. I wouldnt call it complaining, youre just reading my posts wrong maybe. Some people just cant take constructive criticism I guess.

there isn't a digital version. your instructor will double check your paperwork and it is filed away for the duration of the event...
FYI, you are young and tech savvy. most people at the track aren't. I have a feeling this "ageist" post is the resistance to change.
show up as early as you can (and pack beer/food for the line), camp (VIR is charging $50 for hyperfest... whiskey tango foxtrot), and live the hizzyfest life.

I understand constructive criticism and welcome it (I'm also not in a decision-making role with NASA, but can absolutely pass along suggestions).
Yes, accessing some information requires a lot of clicks. And some things require a printer. Just kinda how it is for now. There is a lot of information to be distributed for every one of our events and most people ignore the emails anyway. The reason we don't link directly to schedules from the email is because the schedule does occasionally change between the email send and the event. I will certainly pass along the feedback that direct links would be helpful, perhaps if we can get the schedule finalized earlier it would help with that effort.
