HAULN-SS Wrote:...the TPMS is not synced to the right tires. Idiots. Look in manual, requires that TPMS tool to reset the corners.

Really? On both of my '08s I can relearn the TPMS by holding the lock & unlock buttons on the remote until the horn honks. Then the car blinks a single signal light and you let air out of the tire at that corner until it honks again. Then the next signal light starts blinking and you just repeat the procedure until all of the sensors have been relearned. I wonder if GM changed it, or they just wrote the manual to say you need the tool... :dunno:

Well, car has been back at the dealership lately for a couple of things. First of all, I finally got a new backup camera installed. It had been kinda flickery when I was putting it in reverse on cold/damp days. They didnt bother trying to track it down, just put a new camera in and it hasn't done it since.

There's been a ton of recalls/TSBs on the car, and while i've had it in for normal service, they've done most of them. The ECU was reflashed for some reason, the sunroof buttons swapped out, axle shaft seals replaced (that was just because the mech noticed them leaking more than they should..at all?)

The most recent thing - I've gotten a CEL about a week ago..stayed on for a day or two so I took it in. I noticed it seemed a little more sluggish than normal, told the guy that when I dropped it off. They went over it, called me and said it was showing a vacuum leak but they couldn't find it. They ended up a few hours later finding a pinhole leak in the turbo inlet. Replaced that pipe, and gave me some printout showing AFR going from like 25% to 9% - does that make any sense to anyway?

Furthermore, would a pinhole leak really cause a sensor to throw a code? Seems really sensitive if so.

Anyway, the CEL stayed off for about 2 hours after I picked it up, and is back on again now. Guess I'll take it back over this afternoon. Moore Cadillac has been awesome to deal with as far as their service, making sure I always had a loaner, etc..its just the pain in the ass of having to get over there. Luckily now my new job is right down the road from it.

.

Most likely referring to STFT or LTFT (short term fuel trims or long term fuel trims), basically the correction factors within the ECU. The ECU at 25% was correcting heavily, once that issue was fixed, it was more in the better realm (and probably at 9% simply because it was still learning the car).

Hrmm, yeah, could have been trim amounts then. Maybe that's why the numbers seemed really high to me. I didnt see the part they replaced, but if it really was a pinhole sized leak I can't imagine it being the source of the sluggishness, but maybe the computer really can detect it and just goes into a panic.

Considering the amount of boost you're running and emissions controls and such I'm not surprised. Most folks with LNFs can't find a cold air intake that doesn't upset the ECU and end up losing horsepower as a result. A few places are finally coming out with intakes that are actually beneficial, which is funny considering the LNF is out of production. But hey, maybe it's paving the way for LDK modes.

So I am thinking about selling this car. Ever since I traded in the TDI wagon, I haven't had a big car for hauling around my instruments and shit, which take up a fair amount of space.

Question: Every rim is scuffed and shitty looking. Some of this was done when I bought the car (in the first 10k miles), but I have done my fair share of shitting them up too. Would you guys bother getting them refinished for selling the car? They are machined surface, not painted. It's pretty much the only cosmetic flaw on the car.

Secondly - how would you guys price a car that is almost impossible to find? I have searched for a ATS Premium, Manual Transmission on cargurus and get no hits, and only get a couple on autotrader more than 1000 miles away (I Had to drive to connecticut to get this car)

Doubt anyone is interested, as I'm still settling on price. It has brand new contintental DWS, about 6k miles left on the CPO warranty I purchased with the car, and I should be doing a good detail job on it this weekend.

A six pack of your favorite brew, two cans of plastidip and call it a day

You had a pretty decent accident in it too right? You'll want to factor that into your pricing if it's showing up on your car fax

Had a deer strike and the repair replaced the grill headlight and drive front fender. Last time I checked it wasn't on carfax. The repair was so well done you can't see where it was, because it was so new the paint match was perfect.

Please don't "fix" the wheels by dipping them black. Just sell the car as-is and let the new owner 1) deal with it 2) fix them or 3) dip them to look like a teenager's idea of style themselves.

I hate black wheels and dip is impossible to peel off much of the time.

^^ Yeah or that

If you really feel like footing the bill, I've had wheels repaired before. It's usually like $75-$125 per wheel.

Anyone ever sold a car on Ebay? I put it up with a reserve listing. I'd sell it lower than my reserve if any of you guys might be interested or know someone -

For the record - i left the scuffed up wheels as-is. You guys are probably right its better to let the next owner fool with them.
