:evileye:

so Rob, you lured your future wife to you with expensive gifts, tied the knot and now she gets "crap gifts", that sounds like a lovely relationship

if by "cutting your losses" you mean when she realizes how much you "care" about her, gets sick of you being a cheapskate, kicks your ass to the 120* Texas sidewalk, takes the house, the car and half of everything left, then more power to you

I'm not really even sure what that means!

I'm still not even close to marriage yet (jinx) but I'm sure whatever girl I marry is not going to be the type of girl that will put up with crap gifts even if we're married for 20 years  I tend to attract the high maintenance ones...which is fine

In that case - thinking about getting dad a good set of headphones. He flies all around the world (on the way back from malaysia right now) and has expressed interest in getting something good for blocking out airplane noise, and listening to tunes from his kindle

Might have a winner. Right in the middle of the budget, has the Tiffany bling logo that girls like to show off and I think it looks cool too. I'd probably get it with that chain too.

If you really care and want to impress, think of something she mentioned 6 months ago that she really liked, I don't care if it's a damn pot holder. Anybody can get her some pretty shiny thing from a popular name brand. I could get your GFs something they'd like from Tiffany's and I've never met them. I'm not saying don't get something shiny and pretty if that's what you want to do, but make sure you get that other thing that only you know she wants.

LOL, thats "almost" exactly what I got Cassie for her birthday, except I got her the Heart Key Pendant. She absolutely loved it. I usually wouldnt be one for expensive gifts but im sure she see how much I spend on my car in a weekend, it would just show the priority levels "too much" if I went for something as cheap as a tank of gas for the truck. She loved it and constantly wears it, plus she gets to brag to her friends about it. In my mind, it was worth every penny for it, I wish I got that much enjoyment out of a gift.

Plus at that price range its nice enough that you wear to some nicer dinners/functions, but not too nice that you wouldnt wear it everyday. And she puts it back in that stupid blue box every night, so shit at least she didnt need a jewelry box for it now.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Well I kind of cheated, I asked her friends and apparently she had been looking at them herself.
