I've got a CPA coming over to crunch the numbers with me after work, but if an x-brace is 6 points, I think I will remove it for the event if it will keep me in C.
The swap is for your motor, not for the entire car. Youd have to ask Felton or another Greg Greenbaum for the official classifier. I dont think its a big deal to run in C because "officially" I think your in B or C.
Crunch the numbers with your base class as the 325i with all the mods aside from the swap (and yes include anything that wasnt a bare 325i car (like my stupid m3 spoiler apparently was not on a base m3 even tho it came from the factory so I had to take points for it in Time Trials, thats why I went PTG wing)

I'd need dyno sheet and comp weight with driver (or Greg Greenbaum would) to establish a base class IN ADVANCE, otherwise any car that doesn't take straight points for all its mods would run in NXR. :wink:

My swap is a m3 motor out of a 1995. Same chassis swap so according to 1.3 I go to xd then assess points from there. Is that right? Otherwise I will go to xr.

Well, shit.
My radiator is toast. While changing the oil today I noticed the (brown) plastic tank is weeping coolant and discharging crud into the system worse than I thought - I hoped to get this auto-x out of it and change it before Summit, and I don't have the $ right now to throw in an aluminum unit in time.
Any co-drives?

The ability to take passengers is a privilege not a right, and one that has been greatly abused at NASA-X events over the years. There's a long list of reasons... clogs up registration since we need to have emergency contact info on anyone getting in a car, causes loaner helmets to disappear when they are intended for drivers only, clogs up grid and has caused many delays at the start line over the years, can turn timed runs into "hey look what I can do" jackassery sessions, has produced puddles of vomit near the timing table, etc. It is essential that this particular event runs smoothly due to high car counts and limited timeframe, so we're doing anything and everything we can to reduce delays/complications.
That said, IF things are going smoothly and IF a few non-novice autoXers wanted to take ONE passenger out for ONE run toward the end of their heat, it would probably be ok. To be discussed further at the drivers meeting.
Also anyone interested in being considered a NASA autoX instructor - i.e. someone who can always take passengers and always go for rides - should please submit their driving resume to me privately.
