G-Force Karting - Sunday, November 4th Richmond, VA

Woot! I'm excited. Alison and I will be driving from Harrisonburg as well, and we will return that evening. I have room for two additional passengers comfortably in the truck. We listen to Techno and run over anything possible so be forewarned.

Any idea of a final role call? Has everyone on the list paid and confirmed?

Jeff will be posting the list of current students attending sometime this afternoon. I know of approx 15 current students attending and paying just at last nights meeting, the cutoff to pay is today for current students, so if you haven't paid by today, tough luck (no offense). We will also be doing Karting in the spring, and with the large # of interest we have had this fall, we will more than likely be doing the 1.5 hour, 3 man teams in the spring.

So for those alumni who have paid to go, if you don't get in on the 20 you will have your refund ASAP. Sorry for the disorganization, we are working on remedying this problem for the spring.

For those alumni who may be holding off to let students sign up, don't worry about that for now. There is the option of doing a 1.5 hour event that would open up 30 slots if we have enough people.

I think I have another 2 or 3 non MM people who'd want to go so we might easily have the numbers.

If that is the case, is it due to not enough people? If so let us know and I bet we can come up with enough to make the enduro quota...

Yes there is no chance of the 1.5 hour karting. they are opening an hour early just so we can do karting that day.

This has become, in the last 24 hours, a wildly popular event with more last minute participation than we anticipated. As you can see, it shifted the imagined line-up of those going quite a bit. Its something we're working around and we will definitely change how we do things in the future.

However, do not presume you aren't going just yet. I am going to attempt to make some sort of arrangement tomorrow with G-Force, I will let each and every one of you know what has, is, and will happen. Thanks

perhaps its too late to put together something like this, but if they dont have anyone renting the place out for the first half hour they are technically open (11-11:30am), maybe we could just have a deal to pay a little extra to accomodate the extra time? or maybe have teams of 3 drivers each driving 20 min stints instead of teams of 2 drivers with 30 min stints as it stands now? of course that would lower the cost per person.

Dave, please update us ASAP on what the final outcome is.
For the record, I am a little upset that all of a sudden every alumni got bumped off of this. I realize that this event was meant to foster new member involvement and I encourage that. However, a cut-off time of 4 days before the event is way too late.
Had the cut off been set at last week, not only would it have been a lot easier for G-force to accomodate for our sudden increase in demand, but it would have made it far easier for people to make plans if they were getting bumped off the list.
