Pictures in sigs?

I dont see a problem, since its just text. If the deal is no pictures in sigs, well whats the problem?

donkey = 2k = 2%
supra = 5k = 5%

now if everybody thought it was ok to add a supra-style image to their sigs, pages would take twice as long to load. (20 posts [assuming different posters] x 5% = 100%)

Also - the page text will already be there while the images are loaded, so should be a non issue. Then the images will be cached...

Wasting time on this proves that pointing out pages taking an extra 2 seconds to load is just whining.

2 seconds is millions of dollars to a lot of companies, especially when it's a 50% increase in load time.

This isn't a for profit site but it's one more check mark in your column of inconsiderate web practices.

Besides, if I wasn't doing this I'd just be doing the same thing for some poorly made AOL website.
