Congrats on the little one on the way, 1st MM baby!
Given all the trouble I've had at that track, blown engine, hit 1 guardrail, and now flipping, it is still my favorite track

who remembers the T1 debacle at Summit Main last year where it was red flagged and 3 cobras were involved (one completely crumpled - bad enough for me not to know what kind of car it was).
Is this the "Car. In. Tree" incident ?

There was a FFR in the tree at summit last year.
Holy crap Chad... really unfortunate / disheartening for that to happen. As everybody has already mentioned - glad your safety equipment performed as designed to save your noggin.
Did you only roll over on to the roof? By the speed that it occurred, I would assume that you rolled 1.5 times...

I just rolled onto the drivers side then hit the roof, so really only rolled .5 times, at least that is what I remember :? Really though I more landed on the roof, the damage to the drivers side isn't as bad as one would think if a car rolled over.
Sorry to hear the news. What about getting it mechanically sound, and leaving it crumpled? Could happen again the very next race.

yes it could. My first priority is going to be to get the rear end fixed, then the outline for the front and rear glass and get some plexi/lexan in there. After that I'll try and figure out what I want to do w/ the doors and 1/4's.
Yeah - i'd say fuck em. You cant keep them perfect anyway. As long as the cage is intact, i'd call it done.

Wow, Chad, that's crazy. I'm really sorry about the news! Very glad to see that you walked away, though. I guess you're not going to make too big of a fuss to the dildo that hit you? Also, big congrats about the little one... can we get MM Tee's that small?
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

I'm gonig to try and find something I can put the MM logo on and take a pic at the hospital, that would be great!
I could make a big stink about the whole thing, but in the end the guy is a big douche and he's not going to man up and make it right so what good would it do other than piss me off even more?
That sucks that the guy won't do anything for you...did you get to speak to him at all after the accident?
I'd suggest you just pound out the dents in the side with a hammer and get it as straight as you can...thats what my uncle did with his dirt oval race car and it looked pretty decent.
the guy is just an outright peice of shit. Instead of growing some sack and telling Chad that he fucked up and that he was sorry, he just kept giving whiny excuses. I'm sorry but it was only halfway through the race, his brakes should not have been cooked that hard, and especially not at that particular corner, given that there is a ton of run-off room into VIR-full territory if you do lose your brakes. I ran out of brake room (my own damn fault, just tried to compress too much) going into turn 7 once, but instead of using another car to keep myself on track I just went down the road a bit, did a U-turn and got back on when it was clear. I know it's different when you're racing, but if a yellow is waving in your face, you'd have to be a real asshole to perform such a boneheaded maneuver that you risk your car and another racer's just to make a turn that you didn't slow down enough for.
On a side note, I love FFRs and want to have one someday. Unfortuneately, the nostalgia and easy power, as well as the cool looks and fairly low budget, attract too many idiots with too much money and not a care in the world about the other people on track. It is truly sad that it they continue to get a bad rap because of stunts like these.
Chad i think you have every right to post on the FFR forum and let them know what really happend... show them the video if you want... explain what happend the next day. because they need to learn from other drivers mistakes.
