In other news, my 318 has been hella reliable and survived a handful of track events and autocrosses. And for that matter, I bought another one with that many miles, drove it from MD to GA and did no maintenance on it for a year while using it as a DD. Therefore, 20 year old BMWs with 260k+ miles on them are super duper reliable, even more so than a new Honda (don't trust consumer reports, they don't know what they're talking about), and even your sister should get one to drive to hike-school.
