You know M-sport is largely cosmetic changes, right?  Slap a bunch of //M badges all over the car and charge for it.

Yea I am aware, but for me to add the wheels/seats/bumpers/de chrome everything would kind of defeat the budget savings, and the non m just looks meh to me.

That A8 with the trans issue may be worth a look if I can get him down on price a bit, and it’s right up the road from where I work.

You get the seats, wheels and steering wheel with the sport package.  I'd throw a dart and guess about half the BMW's sold had this.  And, if you find the perfect car that didnt that stuff is easy to change, I did this with my wagon.

M-sport is a separate option package on top of that with all of the goofy cosmetic shit, no additional performance except for springs on some cars, but at the mileage/price point you're looking at all the suspension is going to be worn out.

You really need to figure out what you want and hone in on that and do some research and decide if the common problems that plague whatever you're after are worth living with. Right now you're just LEEROY JENKINS into this. I mean, its entertaining for us, so, time's up let's do this.

That silver 540i doesn't look awful, and if you got it for like $3800 or so, it may not be terrible to you. Lauren's ended up kinda raggedy but hers also ended up like my Denali - needing literally everything fixed around the same time. The valley pan will leak and the job is annoying. Doubly so if you do it two or three times and it still leaks.

I'd also suggest looking at an E34 540i. They were ~280 hp and I think the M60 holds up better to time than the M62. Five-speed auto that's unremarkable or a six-speed manual that's really what you should have.

Here's a good look at what you can expect in buying a high mile 5/7 series BMW. These guys are gonna go all the way to the bottom of the rabbit hole as fast as they can, though. Thorough is putting it mildly.

I would love it if you could look at it with me, I’m sure you know what to look for a hell of a lot better than I do.

I've enjoyed watching this thread with everyone running around being lunatics. Meanwhile Joey's in the middle of the room screaming "HEY, EVERYONE. PLEASE STOP." Everyone ignores Joey and continues to light their own shit on fire and hurl it at each other.

I like this thread.

This is the answer. Buy one of these.

I always wanted to print a shirt that said “OK, just this once” to counter all those “Just say no” kids.
