Anyone out there have an Instant Pot? I'm a convert... can't wait to get rid of our crock pot.
I'd be interested in hearing some success stories with it. I've googled a ton of recipes, but end up making the same thing every week.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
Is that like a pressure cooker?

Ya. It also has a slow cook non-pressurized mode, but I haven't used it because 30 minutes is way better than six hours.

My wife was talking about this but we literally have no room for kitchen gadgets. If we decide to replace the crock pot it will be one of these. They seem to be all the "rage" these days.

Yeah, I was a hater because it's a total mom-competition-on-pintrest sorta thing. We recently had a rice cooker bite the dust and took the opportunity to replace it with an IP. Given it does such a good job, I think we're going to dump our crock pot too. The IP has the same capacity but takes up a good bit less space. If you're short of space, like us, it's actually a better option.

Not meat related but every year, my family (now my dad) makes these super sour garlic dill pickles. He's at the beach and we had a couple good weeks so I'm making them tonight for him. This is the first time in like 10 years we've had to break out the large crock towering in the background

If you like garlic, these are pretty good. They can be a little much for some people though. That's a bowl of minced garlic next to the dill on the cutting board lol. Each of the little crock pots has between 12 and 20 and I thought I was making a batch of like 50 something tonight and found another bag in the fridge right before I started. So tonight's was 65 and I'll probably pick another 10 over the next two days. No idea where those are going to go lol.
I always hate the pickle season because they'll literally take up our entire fridge. One year we took Lincolns old mini fridge and filled it bottom to top but the thermostat must have broken and it froze them all. Ruined almost an entire season worth of pickles

Pickles are cucumbers soaked in evil, and have no place in a meat thread anyway

I want one.
I have that Anova Nano on order, when that arrives, I will likely get rid of the Hamilton beach crockpot/sous vide and snag an instapot.
I'm just gonna throw it out there that I'm accepting any and all retired kitchenware. Like beyond crock pots too. Anything still in working condition.

Being able to do that in 90 minutes blows my mind. Its 16 hours in the crockpot.

I think the Instant Pot is more like 11 PSI, but you get the point.

IMO it's the same quality as Chipotle minus the HIV. Plus they have queso.
