Did any of these come in manual?
Nope. They were 100% awesome mid-90s Subie CVT...

Well that sucks, that puts it right out. Im not dealing with automatic transmissions and trying to keep those cool in a race environment.

It wasn't a CVT, it was a proper auto and it SUCKED BALLZ.
However. Since Subarus Are Like Legos, it is fairly easy to add a manual trans. But then you'd have a manual trans 2 ton yacht that couldn't go, turn, or brake, it would just have three pedals.
NOW that I've said that...
BEHOLD. The Subaru XT. Available in both turbo and 2.7H6 flavors, it did have a manual trans with the 6 pot, and it's shaped like a doorstop.
Do it. Easily available for your budget.

the XT is actually a pretty sweet car that should be doing RallyXes, not getting pounded into sawdust.
same goes for the subaru RX

LOL, as a previous XT owner, I can safely say that XT's, while sweet, have no real reason to be preserved. :-p

I really like the idea of the subaru XT plus every single other person on the team drives an STi currently so somehow I think they would be way up on the idea of an XT.
Anybody know where the **** to find one though?

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...
DJ. I have a 1981 Chrysler Imperial Coupe I can get you for FREE. It has a 5.2L v8 and it is RWD. Just needs the EFI taken off and a 4bbl slapped on.

BIG BIG BIG PIMPIN do it DJ!
The XT was a good idea, but I like the way jeff thinks too.

Jeff you are awesome, my only concern is the automatic. I assume its auto correct? I wonder if we could somehow through a cheap ass manual trans on it? (we dont care how it looks so it wouldnt be an issue) I just assume an automatic wouldnt last 20 minutes in a race.
That car would be perfect. 4 barrel carb so engine is easy, definitely looks like a batmobile and rwd for some fun. Anybody know how to work carbs well? lol I certainly dont, I bartely know enough to get me going such as jetting and idle screws. Any other fancy tricks? Im sure I could figure it out if I just tore a carb apart.

I'll call Phil. He has NO TITLE for this car. I was thinking about it for BA/BE but can't because of that. It is a 904 auto probably. Just toss a 727 in it and it should make it just fine. The 904 is the non HD version of the 727. You could do a manual from a truck or an older car if you wanted. It has a EFI that is fucked up and does not run. But a carb swap is easy money.

DOOO EEET. And have a bad 70's disco/cop movie theme. Like, before any driver is allowed in the car, they have to do a Starsky roll over the hood.
That, or you all could be coke dealers.
He said come and get it. Just bring a case of Stones for him. It is located in Marshall, VA.
