Ditch the s-afc, link is so much better for very little cost different in my opinion, once you sell the MAF translator, S-AFC and eprom chip, youll probably only spend another 100-150 for dsmlink full, and break even with dsmlink lite.

The above can not be stressed enough.
The very first thing I bought for my gsx was the link...it wasn't an accident.

Thats probably what i'll end up doing. With lite I'll need to keep the translator though. May go full and say the hell with it. I think the translator is going bad anyway. I am getting a code for the iat sensor.

Well It's been a little while since I have posted here. So for a update. Got the trans a clutch situation squared away. Also had to do the clutch pedal repair due to the wore out lever. Installed a Act 2100 pressure plate and exeddy disk. All is well. Repaired the exhaust leak at the turbo and installed the special little washer. Did a base tune and have put almost 6k miles on the car with only 1 issued thus far. Which is a miracle in itself for a DSM. One of the previous owners swap the cruise cable for a non cruise cable (I don't think the cable came from a dsm) and the cable broke. So I went to the salvage yard and picked up the whole cable/ cruise assy. (everything under the hood) for $25. And the cruise is working again. Car has been running great and has good power. There is a guy near me that want's the car bad so I may sell it and pick up another project car. (think'n fox body) Will keep posted.

Well it's been awhile since I've posted in here. So where to start. Well I pulled the trans for a rebuild. In the process I decided to pull the engine and check it over. I supposedly only had around 15k miles on it since it was rebuilt. Well someone had been into the engine. I also found quiet a few things screwed up.The first thing I found was the intake was missing 4 bolts ( bad), next the oil pump gasket was leaking horribly (worse), pulled the vale cover and found half the cam cap bolts loose (worse yet), and the mother of all the head nuts (arp studs) weren't torqued even close to where they should be. So in te middle of the tranny rebuild came a engine rebuild. Pulled the engine completely apart checked everything over and replaced the bearings, seals/gaskets, and rings. I replaced all hoses belts (timing belt included) and such. Put engine back together the way it should be. Cracked open the trans and found the 1st/2nd shift fork wore. Replaced all shift forks and brass rings. Also found the output gear and center diff gears chipped. Replaced those and all bearings. put trans back together. Scrubbed the engine bay and repaired anything I found I didn't like. Reinstalled the engine and trans. Only to find the clutch slave cylinder was junk. Replaced it and everything is good again. Had to do a retune due to no leaks in the intake tract now. Car runs a feels so much better then it did.
Here's a pic of my output gear
A before engine shot
now a after engine shot. I also bought some heat shields that where missing and installed a new timing belt cover I had laying around.
Trans shot
I also redid the exhaust and got rid of the fart can. Replaced it with a flowmaster.
Before
After
Now I have about 3k miles on the rebuild. Car is running great and I am using for DD duties. I bought four tires for it Sat.. Next up will be the exterior.
