D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:It is a 1999 Alpine White, mods are all suspension aside from a carbon fiber intake+heat shield. Was owned by a local to Verona who autocrosses his blue camaro (the one that popped up in other thread). The thing is solid and the paint is in immaculate shape along with everything else. Interior is Dove Gray with Vaders, only upgrade inside is the short shifter and illuminated m3 knob.

Apparently 99 got a few cool things that I could care less about...3-spoke steering wheel, rear headrests and dual zone full digital climate control. If you know anything more special about 99s let me know as im fairly new to this bmw thing. The tint is about 20%. Its also got the Optional Harmon Kardon system which does pretty decent for itself along with the 6-cd changer. I will probably not throw in an aftermarket head unit as I like the stock look, ill probably just hardwire in an ipod connector for it.

The thing is pretty aligned to handle -3 camber and zero toe. The thing does not want to let the rear end go no matter how much throttle, cant wait to autocross/road race her.

I'll swap you my old crappy '95 steering wheel if you aren't particularly attached. Smile

Then '95 and '99 M3s are full of win.

I have a deliciously tall diff (38mph in first), no traction control, and OBD1 software, lending itself to fairly easy/cheap performance upgrades. I have an intake, exhaust and a chip on the way and I should be at or above 260hp, as a safe guess.

IIRC, the 99 got a bump up in the aesthetics and other stuff you couldn't care less about, but atleast the interior isnt as hideous as mine. That 4 spoke wheel is such a buzzkill.

I'm running a similar set up H&R races, Bilsteins, X-brace, sways and so on, but with more conservative camber. -1.7. I love this thing to death.

This car awoke me to the whole "German engineering" thing....I drove it and loved every second of it. It was like driving a bolt action rifle.

So yeah, I dont know WTF my curse is, but AGAIN, every car ive had in the first week gets a hit and run. Sad I even got to see replays of it on tape, but there is no way to get any discernable evidence from it. Asshole hit it hard, luckily it was in the front bumper, where I guess is the best as that has the most "wear". Even though this thing was in absolutely mint paint condition argh. Debating getting the front bumper and white trim around headlights repainted and covered in laminx (or whatever they use these days) for when I go tracking.

Naw not even close, could barely even distinguish that it was a sedan. Night+ Crappy Security Cameras. I got to see my car get shoved back 1-2 feet but thats all.

Oh and PS- BMW maintenance parts are all extremely reasonable (dare I say cheap?), but good lord, try getting something aftermarket and get bent over. The Conforti CF air intake on my car is $389. Its a small piece of CF with a heat shield (nice though) and a filter. Are they fucking insane? Glad it was done before me, I woulda created my own before buying that. To be honest, its got plenty of power when your in the turns, yeah its a bit slacking the straights, but im more of a corner carver than straight-speed junkie.

Sucks man. Although that's what happens when you go ahead and snatch up the last space in a parking lot.

Actually it was just a chill night out drinking at Hard Times (a hang out bar). You would have thought being LITERALLY right across the street from the courthouse it might be safe but noooooo.

Yeah u can barely notice it, but I notice it, which is the worst, I think ill get it painted when my UUC spoiler comes in this week.

This is yet another life lesson taught by the epic film, Roadhouse. If you're going out to a bar, any bar, you gotta be prepared. I'm not talking about flossing and practicing your wingman skills, I'm talking about kickin' some ass and keeping your mullet in such a way that it can't be grabbed in a fight (besides, if you're Patrick Swayze, you get the girl while stepping on a few throats) and, oh yeah, protecting your wheels.

Next time you go to any place that involves other people and drinking, take your '65 Riviera (Lexus)

And leave your '86 550 Benz (M3) tucked away in the garage

And should anyone touch either ride, well

OK, but 65 Riviera > 86 Benz.

BTW, congrats on the new BMW! Very nice and always good to find something with the mods that you would do yourself already done.

Ouch that's rough dude, you have really bad luck. I never park in tight parking lots or parking garages. Even if it means me walking an extra block just so I can get some space between parked cars. Really though there's no way to prevent getting backed into if someone's going to do it. I had a 15 passenger van back into my old WRX in the middle of an empty parking lot once, fortunately I caught the guy before he drove off and really bent him over on the repair (it was $750+ out of pocket for him for a minor scrape on my bumper since he didn't want to go through insurance).
