You wouldn't believe the amount of cars that come into the shop that won't start or run rough or quit on the highway because someone filled their car up with diesel instead of gas.
Usually the complaint is "the nozzle wouldn't fit, and it sprayed out while filling it up, and then it didn't make it off of the gas stations lot before it quit"

god, they MUST be dumb. Must be attracted to the green pump or something, cuz I would think that picking the one pump that is 50 cents higher than all the rest and usually specifically off to the side would clue them in.
I too cannot tell you how many people I had to clean up after b/c of idiocy. Usually it was a nice break b/c I got to go outside, but there were several times when they had dumped enough gas that by the time that I was able to contain the gas spill it had flowed almost out to the street. And of course there was the time that I got to say "Sir, there's gasoline pouring out of your truck" as he walked around the store or the time that I watched a surveillance video of a woman "topping off" her tank and then staring at it while gas kept pouring out as she held the trigger down, then pulled it out and sprayed gas all over her car b/c she STILL had the trigger pulled (she needs to move to Jersey).
My personal favorite was the time I was changing the trash outside and I had to remind the guy pumping the gas that cigarettes + gasoline aren't a particularly good combination and that I'd appreciate him not blowing up the gas station that particular evening.
Yeah, last year we literally had two cars towed in because of diesel in the tank in one day.
