New camera, could use some photography advice

i like those better than all the rest. But on the first and last one, I immediately looked down the road...not at the car. you'd want to make it so that both the white lines on that road intersected with the car. And on the 2nd one, you'd probably want to catch at least one other wheel sometime, so it doesnt look like the passenger side is floating.

Thanks for the comments guys. Derek, having you look down the road is definitely what I was going for so I'm glad you commented on that. For those shots I was looking to bring the rule of thirds into play and really only got it on the last one but overall having a background in the picture makes for a much more enjoyable picture. Getting both lines in a pictures is a bit tough for me as I don't have much of height advantage so taking shots from a low standpoint seems to work better for me. Shooting in direct sunlight is tougher than I thought it would be. I'm hoping to get some sunset shots at some point.

Also, i would've liked to seen the wheel cocked in more on the first one. Would've been pretty neat to see the wheel dead ahead, with the rest of everything angled about the same

I like that idea, perhaps with a slightly higher approach it could be a nice leading/flowing photo. Thanks for the idea.

In response to the sky color on another forum I tried editing some other shots that I had so that I didn't have to oversaturate the car. In result I think I got a more accurate color for the picture but please give some feedback on which gives the better appearance. Thanks again for the responses everybody.

Did you hold the camera over your head for that one? Seems like the car is stretched out.

Its a super-wide zoom lens. 10-20 mm which gives some distortion at full zoom out which I think is what you are referring to.

EDIT: Latest additions:

i like how in yours, the focus is on the tire apparently, since that's the only thing not blurry, heh.

The tires were new and the decoration is... urban. You know you sweat it :-) It also looks like it's leaking fluids. Also great.

Ok for serious though,
[Image: IMG_0432.jpg]
the saturation is turned too far up on this one. I love the perspective, but the car has a yellowish tinge to it. Otherwise, I think you're off to a stupendous start. This does bring up another issue. Get a good monitor. I suggest one of these:
You'll only get color right if you can see it right to begin with. </applefanboyism> but seriously... a decent monitor is always a great investment.
