If you can afford it, go air and get decent tools. There is just no replacement for air tools.

except for those annoying angles/tight space that air tools can't get too...
those air ratchets can't take bolts i torqued myself, and im a weakling

I have cheap airtools from sears and they work fine. The 1/2 is no snap-on or IR but it sure gets almost everything I need done, done. Its max torque is 250 which is nothing next to the like 800ft/lbs or whatever of some of the guys' Snap-ons ar work. But for basic work it does great. Might I also reccomened a 3/8 impact...it will be the most usefull next to a 3/8 air-ratchet. As for normal tools I have Snap-on, Blue Point, Craftsman, Companion (cheap Sears), and Mac. Of all of them I like Craftsman and Snap-on the best. I only buy snap-on what I can't get from sears because I would rather roll to winchester then wait a week for the truck to come around. Don't buy any MAC...the tools are great but there service and warrantee stuff sucks.

PS, My uncle has a Snap-on electric impact...it is GREAT. I only use it when I go out to a yard or Sylvia's house though...it is not near as powerful as even my crappy airgun. However it is very quick, quiet, and its easy on rims because once the nut is loose it comes off like a drill...nice and smooth. Also, a buddy has a cordless Dewalt impact...now that thing is badass. however he paid $600.

During the first months of hanging out on this forum, the incessant bickering was confounding to me. Now I can't even imagine this forum without it. It's part of the charm I guess. It's like we're a really disfunctional family. *group hug*
