Mike I'm pretty sure Sound Solutions in Chantilly is an authorized dealer of Alpine, and when my brother got all his audio crap installed he took it there..
He never had any problems with it, but I'm much of an audio phile so I'm not too sure whats good/what's not...
chantilly is kinda a pita for me unless they could do it on a weekend, that is why i was looking at the other places, which are closer to work.
i've never had anything professionally installed; do they do it all in a day?

Well, when I had them install a stereo a long time ago they seriously hacked the fuck out of the stock wiring harness - and they had a deal where they'd put the stock radio back in for $25 if you ever were selling the car, etc - I took it back to them for that, took at least 2-3 hrs for them to un-fuck the harness and put the stocker back in.
That and I think they are way too expensive, and most of the guys I've talked to are assholes unless you're buying $3k of parts with a custom install. The one time I went into Tweeter was just as bad, I couldnt even get a guy to help me with a head unit, and I wanted to buy it that day.

i've had personal experience with a shop in downtown alexandria, i'll get the name later, but they were faily cheap and very efficient :thumbup:
they're kinda small and i worked with them after dealing with insurance. I think they're a mom & pop type shop.
alexandria = too far.
what seems to be a recurring theme that i've been getting from various boards is that audio shops have poor attitudes. what is up with that? is it the nature of the business? is a customer only looking to spend a grand unworthy of decent service?

You could always buy the headunit you wanted off of Ebay, along with any other parts, and take it someplace for the install. Or were you looking for the convenience factor of purchase/install in one spot?
