Anyone know good audio shops in NoVA? - Mike - 09-23-2005

The S2000 needs some new toys... Tweeter hacked up my Cvic with an alarm install so they are out, Best Buy and Circuit City I just don't trust... Anyone?

Yes yes, I could do it myself, but I just don't feel like it and I'd like a guarantee that it is done right Smile

Whatcha getting?

Mine came with an Alpine HU, amp, and components, but I'd like a little more bass with the top down on the highway. There's just nowhere to put a sub without cutting storage in half.

- Mike - 09-23-2005

Alpine HU, modifry's DCI, maybe a 10" w/ a wheel well enclosure.

- Ryan T - 09-23-2005

need 4 12"s yo

- Mike - 09-23-2005

11 15"s would be wayyyy cooler, but i'd need a tralier for em.

- ScottyB - 09-23-2005

i still have a 10" in a bandpass, along with a 140 watt amp if anyone wants it

im drunk right now but I think its uhh underground audoi in springfield or something ..im away from home so I dont know right now and cant look it up but im pretty sure its underground audio.

Mike Wrote:modifry's DCI
If you can avoid it, don't get the infrared one. It obviously doesn't go through the radio door and it's a PITA...cause to open the radio door hits my Alpine knob thingie, which puts it into "sub" mode (so I can't change volume or anything right away at the radio).

- Mike - 09-24-2005

i did some looking around last night and i have two options for that:

alpine sells an optional unit (that interfaces with some of their more high-end HUs) that allows steering wheel/dash control functionality.

OR the high end alpine units also have a 3.5mm jack that you can plug a wired modifry in to Smile

so 'll head to a shop and see how well this alpine controller works and if it isn't satifactory i'll find out if they'll install the modifry if i bring it in.

If you are ever down this way I could do it. I know I won't fXXK it up so I will guarantee my work %100. I've done all the stuff in the Sebring and all through high school I was considered a low cost alternative to A&K car audio or any other local place by my peers. I've done everything from CD players to full component/amp/eq installs. I also have a few TVs under my belt if you want to bling a bit.

PS- I just finished my turbo timer insall (yay, another product to add to the rep) and I have a 5.7in widescreen TFT monitor for sale, if anyone wants it.

- Mike - 09-25-2005

yeah yeah i've done all the installs too, i just really want this done 100% right. i trust you, i semi-trust me, i just want to be able to drop the car off and pick it up done.

anyone have experience with myer emco? they have a shop right by my work so it'd be real convenient.

- Jeff - 09-25-2005

hmm, never heard of that place, but I don't get up to nova much either. If you change your mind we can get together and rock it out in a day.

- Mike - 09-25-2005

appreciate it...

myer emco in a chain, but they only do really high-end stuff so i'd assume they have good installers. then again, i thought the same thing of tweeter.

- WRXtranceformed - 09-25-2005

I know the place in Leesburg that used to be Sam's Stereo's does pretty good work, but I think it's kind of pricey. They've done work on Ferraris and other top dollah cars, so I'm sure they're good at being careful.

- Mike - 09-25-2005

i'll look in to them. i'd rather pay a few extra bucks to get nice work done... thanks Smile

- WRXtranceformed - 09-25-2005

No prob =D It's in the same shopping center as the Del Rio mexican restaurant kind of close to the Rt. 7 flyover.

- Mike - 09-25-2005

oooooh del rio! i know where that is then Smile
