i dunno, it's been really hot since march. Anyways, to point out something, in the two days since the mayor of New Orleans opened the first neighborhood back open to residents, Rita has gone from a cat2 to a cat5. It's weird.

At least the storm is headed more for Houston and Texas than for New Orleans and Mississippi.

not only that, but the maximum sustained winds have been reported to 175mph....that's damn near tornado strength. Granted that's only near the eye, that's like a big freakin tornado....

I thought this might happen since Katrina developed the same way and went from a cat 2 to a cat 4/5 in 2 days. Luckily dropping down a bit before hitting land, but man....
