Mostly I wanted R-compounds for autocrossing , but I may just get some reallly sticky tires that are wide and 16s. Cuz I dont want to destroy my new 18s cuz those rims are hella expensive and tires are also very expensive.

For autox, get the smallest wheel you can fit over your brakes, and the widest wheel you can fit in/under your fenders... within cost constraints of course.
You could always just get some stock 16" wheels and squeeze some 225/xx/16's on them. I think stock FD RX7 wheels are 16x8 and share the same bolt pattern... some 245's would do well on that heavy pig dsm.

16s are the smallest I can fit over my brakes which is why I wanted to go with 16s. 235 would be how wide I would go and would be the widest I could go without sticking out. I have thought about fd rx-7 rims. Lol if you see any let me know, I cant seem to find any that are not an outrageous price. BTW 3175 is not pig-heavy for an awd car.

Kaan, j00 have PM..
just in case I can make it to Summit I have to do the following..
- Oil/MTF change
- brake pads/bed/etc
- ebrake lines if I'm not too lazy
- re-tighen/torque all bolts
*cough* RJ I have a 6 pack of PBR for j00 *cough*

How big are those brakes?
It doesnt matter if the tire sticks out of the fender some, as long as it doesnt slam into it. Look on rx7club.com and ebay - you can get a set of those wheels for $200-$250, and they're very light also. Verify that they'll work (bolt pattern, hub center, offset) before you take my word. I know thye are 5x114.3.

Bring it on over. Which pretty much ensures I wont have to do any wrenching

I know I would need spacers with the rx-7 wheels so they fit. Other then that they are perfect. I have already looked on rx7 forums and ebay and people are asking stupid amounts of money like 350-400. I am like holy fucking thats crazy batman. How light are the fd rims, cuz 3000gts are 16x8 along with supras which are 16x8. If anybody is interested in some 3000gt sl rims (painted gunmental with silver lip) and some stock gsx rims let me know. Both sets of 4 are 2-piece rims, the gsx have bends but the sl are in perfect condition aside from a few curb scrapes (not my fault). Both sets have tires except each set has one blown tire. LOL. I dont want to use these rims for em cuz they are both on the heavy side, hell my dd rims would be lighter and theyre 18s.

BTW they are 2g GSX 2-piston brakes, but they are huge for 2 pistons. youll have to see em, not big compared to upgraded brake systems like brembo, but huge compared to gs-t and gs brakes. I was afraid cuz the clearance with 16s is barely any when I had 16s on em.
It is commonly known anything less than 16s wont fit among dsmers with gsx brakes for some reason even tho they are 2 pistons and only 10.8 inch rotors. But I have no reason at all to upgrade em, I have ss brake lines, brembo crosdrilled rotors, and axxis metalmaster pads and they will engage abs no matter what speed if you slam on em or more than 75% braking. Worse when the pads are warmed up......and even worse when I disengage abs...muahahahah....that was a fun week of leaving 11 imprints EVERYWHERE I went....probably why I went through my eextra set of tires so quickly and they were peeling....
FD rims are hella light. something like 16 pounds if i remember. be careful though, there was a run of FD rims that had casting imperfections and are prone to crack.....i wish i could remember what to look for but just beware.

With the right offset, you should be able to get 15's on there if you really wanted to... but if you can get some 16x8's with 245's i'd do that instead.

Thanx but considering that a lot of 16s dont fit with the brakes, its kind of hit or miss, id doubt that 15s would and I just dont feel like risking it. Wow at 16 pounds thats excellent, id consider rotas but they are pretty weak wheels. I wonder how expensive going to 245/16s would be...
