To get the MR2 ready, I've order AGX's, Tein Springs, TRD Swaybars (I call it the Dave Allen suspension package) + poly bushings. I'm also looking for brake pads (Hawk HP+'s or Porterfield r4s) however, neither manufacturer makes rear pads. Can I just run front pads and stocks in the back? Also, where can I get a good deal on pads?

i had good results from the HP+'s on my (3200 lb.) accord, but the main reason i bought them was because they were used and i got a killer price on them, and because anything was better than my stock, fade-in-traffic pads. they dusted like crazy and the squeeling was unruly, although i couldn't get them to fade no matter what i did. pedal feel was better, too.
carbotechs are very good pads, do what RJ says and go with them. many track junkies will recommend them.

bought a set of xp-10's for the teg.....whoa does it stop. I've ordered through carbotech for all my braking needs, great people, excellent service, and very fair pricing.

I'm working on that as well.

stock pads in the rear? depends what front pads you go with. if you go with a dual-duty pad (bobcat, ultimate) you will be fine with stockers in the rear. if you go to a race pad you might want to bump up to a dual-duty pad in the rear just to maintain brake balance.

Also, on an MR2 the rear brakes actually do something, unlike a FWD honda.

werd, HP's blow donkey ass. I've ran just about every compound they make and hated them all.
sweet! I got a parts package named after me. The deluxe package is where the brakes of the next step up come into play. That MR2 is gonna be totally different; better get those parts on pronto so you can be used to the car by the time Summit rolls around.
Hopefully going on the car 2 weekends from now, but TRD sways are taking their good time to get here. 4 weeks and counting.

Sweet, I love MR2s. I really would love to see your car. Anyway, are carbotechs okay for the street? I was stupid and went with metalmasters and just 700 miles later I went to summit point and they went up in smoke. So I need new pads, id rhater not swap in and out track/street pads everytime I go to race. Although it may not be that bad cuz hopefully ill be getting some r-compounds soon.....if my shit sells..

what group/organization have you run with at Summit? Are you doing driving schools or actual race events?

i've only bought one set and based on the wear from the first event they'll come out to around the same price as a full tread azenis or something.
