Damn mopars. All it takes is one little tap on the fender and BAM! It's broken.
1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442
LOL!!! more like settin for 5-years that makes it not run. The guy "just parked it one day" and it has set ever since. He says the damage is very minor and the car looks sweet. So it might be the one to be saved and the Z (the 89 was just a "Shelby") might be the one to go.

Also, it is rather funny that we (Dave, Rex, and I) do have lovely ladies in our lives and still manage to have the largest piles of broken cars...hmm...maybe there is a patern here

Update on the pile-
I was hard at it from 4pm till' 1am today. It is coming along very well. Exhaust is fixed, wiring is back, head and VC are on, new wheels and tires are on, new brakes, and last but not least...a Bling ass strait off the turbo cone filter. All of this stuff was free so my total spent is still like $420.
Anyone have a BOV they can sell me cheap? Even one off of an old Eclipse or something?
I dropped the oil pan and it looks like a big bowl of chocolate pudding. So I dunno what to do with that, any ideas?
There also apears to be a hole in the floor...oops...water leak. So I will be at it tomorrow too. The gas tank is being sodered up tomorrow morn and I think I can have her running by tomorrow night. This however assumes the headgasket is on right and that the timing is right.
Someone call me tomorrow and remind me to hook up the oil drain down line...lol I'll post pics ASAP the cam is being gay.

Fill it with some ATF and the rest non detergent earl... run it till the motor is hot (20 min or so) then drain and fill with regular earl, and sp00l as directed

Update-
Well, sadly it is not running tonight, but It will be by the end of the weekend. We Fuzored the gas tank lid and reinstalled it with new lines
The oil pan was cleand and a new pickup installed. The exhaust was fixed, its really ghetto but it works, here is a before and after.
So, thats the big stuff right? Wrong. I noticed that the water pump was seized and after pulling the hoses this is what was found...

Sylvia was looking at some wiring diagrams when I pulled it, her response: "Holy F*** it looks like mud-butt!"
So yeah, thats kinda a mess, then as we were pushing it over to the wash bay to clean it out I discovered the p-braked locked over night...fun fun..
Here are some other angles and close ups of some of the rough spots.
And last but not least... my fat ass working and the new bling ass filter install.

Here is something funny to discuss. I took a closer look at the "custom" turbo oil line on the car before trying to start it last night. I followed this line and discovered that it dosen't even go to the turbo. It is hooked into the oil out TO the turbo but goes around and hooks into the back of the block. After a bit of book research I discovered that the point at which it connected to the block was COOLANT OUT TO THE TURBO!!! So these morons connected the oil system to the coolant system...leaving no oil or coolant to the turbo...only outs. This explains the mudd-butt in the radiator and the engine. So now what to do...it's a POS... I think we are gonna buy the 89 Shelby tomorrow and junk this one. A fender to the 89, tranny to the omni, and the rest of the junk to parts. It will have been worth $400 for the tranny and fender, not to mention all the other parts we will sell . It is however sad to see the Z go (89 dropped the Z and is just "Shelby")

I have a few updates on this saga. Well, first off, I got screwed on the 89. I went to the guyÔÇÖs house with Karl (our only "general mechanic") and we threw a battery in it, and sprayed some starter fluid and it roared to life (so now the guy knew all it needed was a fuel pump). I had cash but he "forgot the title" so hands were shaken and off I went to come back Friday with a car hauler and the money.
So I get this call at like 9pm on Thursday..."Hey, I've got some bad news bud. My best friend thinks since these Shelby Mustangs are worth so much this car will be too, so he's gonna give me $1200 for it." I responded with "these car's arn't worth shit, only to people like me" This gets me... speaking of his "best friend" - "Oh I know, but he thinks it is, hey, I mean, it's $800, what would you do!"
So here I am, I already have help and a trailer lined up, Sylvia was all excited, I put the 88 up for sale and I get this shit.
So, I set back to the 88' yesterday and yep....IT RUNS!!! The SOB was out of time in like 3 different ways. The cam was off by about 25 degrees. No wonder my compression was like 60psi per cylinder. So, with a little starter fluid help, it does roar to life...and it boosts too....hehehe. I am gonna have my uncle time it up a bit better and get it runnin good next week. These things are a bitch to time up, I think I have it a tooth or two off. WOO HOO!!! And it doesnÔÇÖt knock like I thought it would after the coolant issue.
