Considering the 135 weighs a lot less than the 335i and the 335i runs a low 13 sec 1/4 miles I dont think it will be a problem.

What was the point of that post anyways....

You already know all of this, but oh well. Being conscious of how heavy cars are in our present day is something that is way far back in auto manufacturers mind. The people with the money now are baby boomers and young professionals. They want comfort, smoothness, safety features, and luxury. There are very few that perfer the raw handling of vehicles that we like and prefer, thus bigger, heavier, more technologically advanced engines are required to pull heavier chassises, and thus even the smallest, most compact BMW will tip the scales at something way more than the beautifulness that was the E30 M3. Nostalgia really.

Which has nothing absolutely to do with the discussion at hand.

The engine (and its speed in the 335i) is a known quantity. The weights are posted for the 1-series (1300kg = 2860 lb), which is 700 lb less than the 335i.

And the E30 M3 weight in at 2730 lbs. Its not too far off.

One more time.......

Im pretty sure the 335i twin turbo engine is a gasoline engine not a diesel.

Regardless, I wanna drive a 135i real bad.

Wow. I think I may have made up the whole diesel thing. I could've sworn the 335i was a diesel. That crack is really getting to me.

300hp, 2860 lbs, RWD and two turbos.... I think we can all be pretty comfortable with that.

The only thing I'm saying to myself is "I hope it doesnt cost $40k". I sure wouldnt buy one new, but still.

Pretty sure BMW NA has already put their fist down on bringing the 1 to the U.S.
No dice. However I did see a few of them in Mexico and I do like them. The interior is surprisingly spacious, but a bit plain a little like the old 318ti was.
