I think he's referring to replacing them before they're bald.

That was no one's fault but my own stupidity. Track was cold, tires were bald and i had 3 hrs sleep the night before.

If i'd just slowed the f down and not pushed so hard on the 2nd and 3rd laps, i wouldnt have stuffed it.

Nothing wrong with bald tires, but along wrong with being stupid on bald tires.

Ok, back on topic. Some progress at actually getting this stuff here, now the only thing i'm waiting on is the pcv catch can and baffled oil pan, which doesnt matter since i wont be able to use my dad's lift to install it until next week anyways.

However if the garage wasnt full of drywall the car did not look like this i'd be able to get going Sad

Communicator, brake fluid/pads/rotors, mtf, oil, plugs, lugnuts, and a bunch of OE parts, cap/rotor/fuel filter/door bezels/shift boot and a 97 ITR shift knob....

Got rims?

Mine:

Maeng's Blingers (I picked them up for him in baltimore last weekend):

Got falkens? (there are 9 205/50/15's in that stack)

Hopefully i will have more to report this weekend or early next week. VIR is looming closer..... hehe...

Like a walkey-talkey that goes inside the instructor and student's helmets. Make instruction 10x better since you can actually hear the person rather than having to decipher everything.

Weather was above 40 degrees this afternoon, so i got a few small items done on the car...

Distributor Cap, Plugs (Platinum Plugs = $$ Sad ), Fuel Filter - have the rotor but didnt get it installed

RS Door Bezels (no power lock switch)

JDM Shift boot and 97 ITR Shift knob

Looks like I might be able to get the brake pads/rotors/fluid taken care of sunday/monday.

Looks like a good start, but just wondering why you choose the 97 knob over the 00?

The 00 knob is shorter and metal - refer to the pic on the first page of the interior.

I just prefer the taller leather knob. Y'all can infer whatever jokes you want out of that Big Grin

The metal 00 R knob can get damn cold during winter, so I suppose that is the reason.

He just said that the reason was that he preferred the taller knob, you even quoted it.

Brake rotor screws are going to need a talk with Mr. Dewalt.... Impact driver and 4lb sledge and they didnt budge.

I will give it another go on sunday afternoon, with more time and more anger Smile

Pads, Rotors, lube caliper slide pins today.

With a little more room to work, and alot more anger the impact driver made quick work of those stupid screws. I tossed those in the trash, and put new ones in, this time with antiseize. Anything less than a 3-4lb sledge and i dont think those things were not going anywhere though.
