I'm glad someone has some questions for me finally lol

I personally really enjoy drag racing(in a FWD car LOL). We've been trying to do Eastside drag strip on friday nights and get a group of kids out, but nobody has been showing. I will personally drag my car and give ride alongs if anybody wants to get a dose of adrenaline (an 8.5 second 1/8th feels fast LOL). I have not done autocross yet but i really plan to get more involved with track events of the sort, as i went to broaden and improve my driving skills. To be honest i plan to attend every possible event that MM holds, as i really enjoy being around motorsports and cars in general. Hockey is not really my priority anymore as I am so injury prone(hence the torn shoulder and 4 concussions). If i have a track event on a Saturday, i can honestly say i rather spend my time at the track then at the rink (it used to be the other way around).

I would like to think my SMAD-esque skills will help the club a lot as i have not seen any artistic projects done recently. I think a cool video or awesome photos of the group will be something that makes people want to join. I am getting a new Video Drone soon, and I'm just itching to make more car videos. Who doesn't like fast cars and pretty photos? i know i do haha. I think an instagram would be an awesome thing to start up, and i would gladly take hold of it myself. I used to have a car account with 1500 followers so i can used that and convert it to an MM insta. I am a person who loves to take on projects on my own, so I'm not afraid to try to tackle something head on by myself. However, If someone wants to help me with these projects along the way i would greatly appreciate the help in raising the bar for our club.

I would definitely try to get the club to start and encourage all members to attend an SCCA Street Survival event in order to teach kids how to control their cars. I see so many people that crash in the snow because they don't know how to handle correctly or turn into a slide. I think knowing how to safely and correctly handle a car is something everybody should know how to do, whether it be on the street when it is dry, on the street when it is raining, or even on a track (given that we do track events).

And i think i would rather fight 12 Duck Sized Gary Buseys..... a Gary Busey size duck might just eat me. I'm a little fella. and my shoulder doesn't wanna have to take a beating again when i could just kick all the little Gary ducks.

I need to find some of those cards!!!!

Its difficult to use because of the time it takes to transfer photos to your phone and switch accounts. It is so unimportant compared to the hours you put into other things, it never really seems worth it. If you can 100% not take away any time from other things to run it, go for it.

Also, correction on east side. We had 20 people go each time we went to east side. You just weren't there. Haha. The most recent one you went to had low attendance because of everyone being busy considering tests, the car show, and everything else in the last week.

I run the twitter and Facebook and I push those extensively since they are more useful than the instagram. We aren't a media organization nor are we some "Hella flush bro" group so the images don't really correlate to what we are doing. I do think it could be useful, but not as much as you are thinking.

We all have ideas that may not be useful sometimes, but instead of saying "you're idea sucks" how about phrasing it as "let's try something else." It is not unimportant if it means bringing in more people to the club. It is NOT difficult to transfer photos to a phone. It takes 2 minutes tops to post an instagram. Yes this is NOT a media club, but who says some positive media and videos is detrimental to the club? Im not some "hella flush bro" that just wants to be "JDM hella sick". You don't know me well enough to judge me like that. Im trying to better this club, and sorry that i wasn't at the previous east side drags but yeah TWO PEOPLE showed up. You cannot account that to a car show that took place a week before.

The instagram can be plenty useful if done right. You can even make announcements on it with text pictures if you know how to draft those up. Use the Instagram, Matt. (or whoever ends up being PR/sec) You can even circulate pics from the car show all year round, from track events, karting etc. and use it as advertisement in the future for anything we do really. Go forth man :thumbup:

Just to be clear, that was not a personal attack, nor was I claiming you were "Hella flush". I was just offering the other side of the coin. As an officer you will receive a lot of resistance from current students and alums and you need to know how to handle this. I know I still struggle with it.

To be fair Taylor, I wouldn't exactly call you the poster child for handling criticism. No ill intent there, just sayin. But it is true there will always be a lot of criticism that needs to be taken constructively rather than personally, but arguing against valid ideas that you wouldn't even need to deal with (since you aren't running for the PR position and Matt would take care of it if elected) doesn't seem productive to me. He has a different skill set and might be able to run it in a very successful way, so why point out all the little stuff standing in his way before he's even had a chance to try? (Not looking for an actual answer here, just making a point.)

On the subject of eastside, I'm sure there were plenty of reasons why people couldn't go, but the fact of the matter is that only three people showed up, and I am sure that more members were available than that, so we should be trying to figure out why those who were available chose to do other things rather than go to the event.
