Events you've always wanted to run

I toyed pretty hard with the Ariel Atom VIR series last spring, even got wife approval, but the buy-in was a little too steep and I couldnt justify it while being so out of practice.
How much was buy-in + running costs?

buy in was $50k and the car was yours. Race fees were very reasonable, and so was car storage and a mechanic if you needed it. They even threw in a vir club membership.

Gumball 3000.

Just kidding, is that still a thing?

One Lap seemed like it would be cool, but I haven't kept up - is it still? Still, most things feel in this list seem like a fantasy when I can't even make it to regular-ass events as much as I'd like. Except the Nurburgring. That preceded by a few months of a video game to memorize it.

renting cars in club racing sucks ass. Rentals are always old busted cheap-as-possible racecars. You get a shitty car, with a shitty engine, grinding transmission, crusty old tires on their last life, and you pay a bunch of money to do it. And on top of that, youre either racing SCCA and are going to get crashed by somebody, or you are racing nasa and get 12 minutes of track time.
nopey nope nope.

renting in club racing is for newbies who are learning and/or still deciding on what class to build a car for

i think id settle for a moped run of of the isle of man and monaco lol

the rights to run at the istanbul track were sold to someone who was trying to start a race series... he went belly up but the rights are still his for another decade and he isnt budging. part of his issue is the country of Turkey doesnt have homes with garages and places store the cars between races, so there are so few that race cars. they do race a lot of karts though.
