Not sure if it shows how old you are, or just shows how freaking fast things boom and bust in college towns. I've driven through it a couple times this year and just cannot believe how much the town has changed in the past 2 years, can't imagine how different it must be for you old crusty OGs. :p

And yeah, I dunno if my taste buds just got douchier, or if the quality of B-dubs food has just plummeted in the past 6-7 years. I used to love it in high school, but every time I've been in the past few years my food has been borderline inedible. Crappy tasting sauces over overcooked, shriveled up, nasty chicken. No thanks. Whatever restaurant takes over that bdubs building better not fuck it up, that's like the best location in town for a good college bar.

A bar is along the lines of what i was thinking. In all fairness the only thing i am really going to miss about bdubz is the only thing i have ever had from bdubz, and that is their triple threat nachos. You get lettuce, jalapenos, cheese, blue cheese, salsa, chili, your choice of chicken, and bbq pulled pork all on top of nice crispy nachos for $10. I never finished it once, i've had it maybe like seven times. Its sooooo good and def worth the money.

Well Bdub's is a franchise so it could just be that the management at that franchise has been fucking up. The Bdub's in Ballston and Crystal City have been great.

the bdubs down the street from here in Durham is kickass. the JMU franchise must be resting on their laurels being the only restaurant like that anywhere in the area.

The bdubs here in Midlothian pulls similar shit with the parm garlic sauce and sometimes shitty wings so it may just be that sauce that they don't want to give out but if bdubs loses that space, it would have to be a bar with good food. Its prime real estate to serve the kids on campus and almost all of them are under age so to not have a good menu would hurt them in the long run. The frats are close but they have their own supply of alcohol more times than not.

But let's be honest, if bdubs loses that building, the only people that will buy it will be JMU and they will turn it into something stupid like a fountain with a statue of James Madison in the form of a mermaid or some shit. JMU has the resources (our tuition) to piss away so they can have that property. They'll make the owner an offer they can't refuse.

Oh wow, didn't realize they were a franchise, I guess I just have bad luck, the one across the street from my office is pretty terrible too, but that one and the Hburg one are the only two I've been to for years.

I'll never forget the time I had to ask for a refill about 3 times, before finally taking my glass over to the fountain machines next to their register (not for customers) and filled my own drink. Bdubs....meh, I don't think I've ever waited longer for food before.

I wonder how many restaurants will revolve through that spot in true Hburg fashion...
