I've noticed some bugs already myself. My car got stuck nose first on a perfectly flat brick wall. It wasn't a big deal because I just stole a Patriot and smashed it out of the way, but I laughed that something so asinine like that would happen with a game that's been touted up so much for its physics engine.

yet another reason why the PS3 is an overpriced piece of shit
i'm really enjoying the game. i'm still pretty early so i'm stuck without many options, but the story is pretty damn good.

More bugs I found: Loss of textures (looked like I was driving on grey squares) and Niko kept circling around when trying to enter a taxi. The only way he would stop was for me to make him or when he got hit by a car.

Got it Saturday and it's really freakin' sweet. I haven't tried without the wheel but I actually love the control with it. The only other MK I've played in the last 5 years was the DS version and the analog of the Wii is a huge improvement.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
So I've been playing GTA4 for about a week and a half now and I've gotta say it's pretty fun. The storyline is interesting enough to make me want to do more missions and the dialog is decent.
Now on to ze gripes. I read an article today that brought up a lot of valid ones:
Top 10 Sucky Things About GTA4
My big ones are 1, 4, and 9. Money in the game is great but he's right, there's nothing to spend it on. I wanna buy a big ass TV for my apartment, or go buy a sports car or buy a boat. Maybe buy a new pad (although I already won a pretty nice one). Can't do any of that.
The clothing selection is weak too and it is kind of a pain to have to switch through every piece of clothing you have to get to what you want.
As for the upward mobility, I think a really cool thing they could have done is allow you to get minions of your own. Send your boys out to do a hit , steal you some cars, or move some yayo. You should be able to bribe some cops, takeover the strip club, start collecting protection money from businesses. Maybe there could be a pimp minigame. That would make the game infinitely more fun, at least for me.
The game is still pretty darned good and it's been fun. I don't know how much longer I'll be entertained with it though.

I haven't owned any of the previous GTA's so it's fairly fun for me. I just started playing multiplayer today. It was pretty damned funny but the problem is that the city is so big sometimes you get spaced out too much. The respawns can be really crappy too, sometimes you respawn right on top of someone else in a free for all. Haven't gotten through all of the different kinds of games though.

So after I got the chance on Thursday night to play around with a coworker's dual Pioneer CD turntable and mixer setup before the PVD show, I'm seriously thinking about selling my 360 and all my games / accessories to help fund a similar setup. I would use those WAY more than I play with my XBOX!! SO MUCH FUN. Too bad my XBOX and every game would probably only fund 1 turntable heh

Download Reason or Ableton and keep the 360
Getting both for free hehehe
I REALLY want to be able to pop a CD in and spin it on tables though, it's completely different than splicing sound files on Ableton.
With that said, on Thurs night PVD had 2 mac computers and was using Ableton with three separate keyboards to do his set... pretty cool to see it. One of his laptops died so he just kind of winged it on the keyboards for a few minutes haha

Theres a program (that along with the turntables costs like $500 or so) that lets you spin and see bpm and stuff like that. I can't remember what its called (assuming its not what you're talking about) but a few of my friends use it. 2-3 of my friends from highschool spin in DC a lot so they're big into that kinda stuff, and I love drinking and just listening to them go at it.
Unfortunately all of that is unbelievably expensive, but if you have the patience for it id say go for it, although the programs that show you how to mix using bpm and graphs etc are supposedly a lot worse than just learning to spin the hard way.

Yea, some of the programs this guy was showing me were EXTREMELY complicated... he'd been using different versions of them for years and still didn't know how to do everything with them. I think I could teach myself Ableton pretty well though, and i would definitely have fun playing around with the turntables and some mixed CDs.

I wrote some VST plugins one time, and the guy whose idea it was sent me copies of ableton and some other programs so I could test with them. I can see if I can find them if you cant.

How much are PS3s going for these days?
I've heard nothing but good things about MGS4 although all I've done is watch someone else play it since I dont have it myself. Supposedly the whole thing looks like its CGI.

still way too much. $500 i think? i was planning on getting the MGS4 80gb bundle, but I cant find them in stock anywhere. I just got a sony credit card which gives $100 back on your first big sony purchase so that should take the sting out of it a bit
