What is with all the plastic dip shit? Why not just paint?
06-11-2013, 09:59 AM
Paint is permanent. Plastidip peels off if I hate it and there is close to zero prep needed.

That doesn't look like UG or any shade of gold. That looks bronze.

The last three comments have been noted and formally ignored.
How the fuck does even look remotely bronze. And how does it look any different than gold paint.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

It all had to do with number of coats and base color. Plastidip gold can look like that shade of gold above or it can look bronze. Its not that much work because you take the wheel off, wipe it, spray it. Gold spray paint won't look any better because it comes out of the same cheap ass spray can and a pigment/metallic heavy color like gold would be a bitch to make look even and match each wheel.
There is nothing wrong with Justin's plan. I'm on board. Plasti dip gets a bad rap because it was made available to fucktards who do shitty work and post bit on the internet. Its really a cool idea that got overplayed by retards doing it wrong and half assed. Its a fairly cheap temporary color change that can either be to test the waters of a look or just run something different for a little while. When you get tired, peel it off and try something new. It just sucks when products get bad raps from people using it wrong or expecting too much out of it. Just like harbor freight tools, people expect snap-on quality for 1/20th of the price. Yea the product requires some modification and a learning curve from a professional grade piece but shit its cheap.
