I'm sure it had less to do with ultimate performance and more to do with wanting to be different and a little showy.

You're gonna build a car (again, in Sweden) and the guy you get your engines from is like "Hey I know you wanted a V8 but I have this V12 layin' around...borkborkbork?" You telling me you wouldn't?

Even if I was rich for me it would come down to extra cost? and headache to fabricate / install. Of course this is coming from the kid who once ripped a 2.5L motor out of a Subaru and had it rebuilt into a 2.8L because racecar. Again the pragmatic coming out in me the older I get

Swedes build the craziest shit because what else is there to do there? Extra headache? Some people enjoy hand fabricating everything as it seems with the Swedes. Check out some of the Gatbil coverage from Speedhunters. If you see a car with it's original motor, it's odd. Save like 20 grand and throw a terminator motor in it, or a coyote, or an LS, or a TT FI 429 or 460.....

Goodspeed, these guys don't understand. All these cars I've posted have come from Scandinavia. They have really long winters and build these insane cars during them. They do it just to see what kind of insane things they can build - not because it make sense or its cost effective. Speed hunters has done an amazing job covering Gatebil and explaining the mindset of the guys who builds these cars.
