So, first bad experiences with the Pixel have come up after the two 8.0 updates. Wireless + data issues. Wireless having issues staying connected at open work network and sometimes at home. 4G going in and out or just not working. Having to cycle airplane mode or turn off phone. etc.
Also, not receiving some texts/and had some people call me but my phone didn't show any missed calls and never rung but I had a voicemail. Also, issues with people hearing me on some phone calls and had to re-dial.
Not sure if this a Pixel issue or coincidence and a Verizon issue?
Any other Pixel'ers have similar issues?
I haven't had any issues like that. The only real problem I've had is that my charger stopped working the other week.

Decided I'm over all the Android nonsense. Going back to an iPhone, probably an 8. Don't want the size of the 8 Plus and not sure I want to deal with the first-gen iPhone X. I liked my iPhone 6, the 8 will be a newer version of the same pretty alright phone that takes nice pictures, sends texts, and Facebooks with competence.

Thought everyone says to just get the 7 cause the 8 didn't improve on anything except a few niche features.
Just what I think I read, I'm not saying don't get the newest cause I probably would even if the internet told me the 7 was better bang for my buck.
I'm debating getting the s8 which would lower my monthly bill a few bucks probably or wait for the s9 (which usually the galaxy phones have way better deals at launch then any other time just from what I've seen)
Besides my multiple eBay replacement back glasses cracking like they're made of eggshells, my s7 has been pretty fine. No real hardware problems that would make me jump ship.
Polen, I don't have one but with our current dog, need one desperately but I don't know I'd want it to run in the middle of the night for noise and middle of the day could be sketchy if it comes across a dog accident but I guess our dogs are locked up in the bedroom so should be fine.
I've been seeing the shark one alot lately. Curious if it's as good and a better value. I've looked at the Costco one multiple times but can't justify the cost (especially right now).

Honestly, I'm probably going back to iPhone next year when I'm due for another upgrade. Looks like everyone is getting rid of their headphone jacks which is the main reason I switched from iOS in the first place. Android isn't nearly as consistently smooth as iOS and just has a lot of random issues comparatively. I have heard iOS 11 is currently terrible though so maybe iOS is going downhill as well.

What have you heard? It's been absolutely flawless for me and I have not heard a single complaint from any of my friends or family with iPhones. Battery life seemed to dip a little, but seems to be fine now. It's fast, smooth, and no bugs so far.

I don't know. Seems like a circle jerk about some guy not being able to clear notifications on his phone. Solution? Don't use that swipe down menu. I rarely ever look at that menu and I can use my phone just fine. I do see some freezing and glitching with my iWatch, but not a whole lot.

I have noticed:
-Battery issues. Seems to have righted itself however.
-Phone has gotten rather warm to the touch after heavy use for only a few minutes
-Data issues. We ran through our data last month and I am not sure why. Some of the complaints say apps are leaking data which could be possible.
-Apps need updates like 3 times a week. Maybe it has something to do with iOS 11. It's not a huge deal but is getting annoying that things need to be updated multiple times a week.

How in the world do you go from, "flawless" to that list in like, two posts? lol
Honestly, all these phones are the same, just choose what works best for you. Such minute differences lately between them, it's all kind of pointless.
FWIW my S7 has held up great, battery life has decreased as to be expected but nothing horrible. Toni has the iPhone7 and that works great too - although she keeps having an issue where texts/imessages in groups just come in lumps hours after their sent. Could be network, could be phone? I think it froze recently, so maybe that was the update?

iOS always uses additional battery directly after an OS update... people always bitch how battery life sucks, but what they are seeing is the OS re-indexing things, performing 1 time background tasks, etc. It normally clears up after a couple days.
Apps are also frequently updated after the major OS pushes to fix bugs caused by the upgrade. It also generally slows down after a month or so.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

OMG ITS DIFFERENT I HATE IT.
shrug.
The app updates happens because app developers need to renew their apps to remain compatible, even if its just updating a certificate. Turn on your auto updates.
