great starter bike for sale - good price
asteele2 Wrote:Ok, well, apparently the comment wasn't directed at anybody.

No offense intended, but that's a dick remark to make. "I'm more righter because I ran a sub 1:30 at the local track." Itr really doesn't prove a damn thing - so you ran a largely unimpressive laptime on a machine capable of hugely better splits. 1:30, 1:29, 28, it's still hack territory up there on a modern bike... unless there's more to say about it then you're not proving anything except that you can piggyback on big ponies and sticky donuts. Coincidentally, being slow also doesn't mean that you have nothing of value to contribute. It's nut swinging benchracing and it's stupid.

I'm done with my commentary now.

I didn't elaborate, Andrew, because this was just going into one shitstorm of a thread since I'm not in line to suck off Soichiro Honda.

My first track day at Summit was spent rolling around with my roommate (owner of an F4). First session after lunch we were hitting 1:30:xxs and he was already grinding his exhaust. The very next session we go into turn 1 side by side and half way through all I could hear was the sound of metal grinding and then out of the corner of my eye I see a bike kick and slide towards me. It startled me and I stood up and eventually ran off the track. I talked to him afterwards and thats when he tells me he's been draggin the right side of his bike all day. Very next session he's out there again following our buddy Adrian (Rossi from dcsportbikes.net) and he goes into turn one and again he's grinding the right side of his bike. This time he pivoted off the peg or exhaust enough to put the bike on its side and he went tumbling off into the gravel. I believe an argument can be made that if he had better body position he could have had more lean, but he certainly didn't have a bad position to begin with.

So my point, which wasn't even a big one to begin with but y'all can't handle someone not liking a Honda, was that stock a F4/F4i isn't great for the track. If any of y'all want to take it personally then you're just retarded.

And I wasn't boasting about a 1:30 lap time, for what it's worth ~1:30-31 was typically only my warmup lap at Summit this last time. But I have never, ever, in person or on any messageboard, claimed to be a fast or even good rider. I tell everyone the same thing, my knowledge of what to do and my ability to do it are not the same.

I have owned a Honda Civic (for about ~15k miles) and a Honda Shadow (~7k miles), both were great to me. Just because I don't think everything else that company makes is orgasmic doesn't mean I hate them. Although I'd rather drive my friends old LS1 instead of his S2k any day of the week.

And I do think Honda should apologize for the Ridgeline. *edit* And the Rune.
