The other side certainly does the same. Her voting record is certainly liberal. I guess I could dredge it up but she has been consistently left on social issues like abortion rights, gay rights, expanded health care and economic programs. She won the position over the more moderate Steny Hoyer, so the thought that a liberal would not be elected in by the dems certainly doesnt hold true. In fact as Leiberman's ouster from the democratic party shows, they have not much interest in moderate democrats, at least in the party leadership.
