bah to marketing! I just trust Apple hardware (and software). It's never let me down since our first IIe (which probably still works just fine if I dug it out of the closet). And I've worked on thousands of Macs in previous jobs, prepped 1000's more for schools with only 1 or 2 DOA components. While trying to do the same with batches of HP and Dell machines, I felt like I was the QC, rejecting piles of parts and whole machines. :? If I can afford the extra few hundred bucks for a well thought out package, cool design, quiet and reliable components, good customer support, and the flexibility to run just about any OS I want? I'll take it.
A 7300 even got me through VaTech when the engineering program required PCs. I had a SWEET 100mhz PC card in that damn thing, running all my e-school software.
